Just left my Porsche dealer this morning, he has customers willing to pay

$40K over sticker for a 997TT right now (any color, any gearbox). Talk about money to burn!

 

Wow, it seems like the market is heating up instead of cooling off. Here in LA they are mostly asking at least $20K over and getting them.

 

Yeah, my dealer is willing to pay 10K to 15K over msrp just to get the cars to sell!

 

What is quoted delivery time now in Fla? In this area it appears to be Dec 08 or later.

Initially there was a flood of cars. Porsche has been making 997 Turbos since April in order to have a bunch of cars for the launch. All these cars were ready at the ports in June for the launch.

Now we have a trickle of cars coming in. The factory will shut down for the entire month of August - just like all other European car manufacturers' plants. This will cause a shortage of cars in September and October. Prices might peak at that time and fall from there. But who knows.

 

For $15k over they can have my black/black 6spd. Due at the dealer in ten days or so. I'll take another one in December.
