997TT + other Porsches at the 'Ring
997TT + other Porsches at the 'Ring
Just got back from a 2 day trip to the Nordschleife. Was in a trusty (rented) 6-speed Cayman S. It definitely lacked power, but the balance of the car was marvelous. Much easier to drive for a novice like myself, than the 996 C4S I had when I popped my 'Ring cherry
anyway, got passed by this beastie!

and then this blew by me in hot pursuit!

and they just disappeared into the distance...

some other Porsches present on the day:
(there's something oh-so-right about a 964RS at the 'Ring...)

Porsche isn't your only track weapon...!

Another shot of this beauty. Ok, so a 997TT or GT3 has better 'Ring times... but c'mon, there's only 100 in the world of these, and they're lovely!

And finally... you gotta give this owner props for risking his 288 GTO on the track!

glad you guys liked the pics.
believe it or not, the first time i was at the 'Ring last year, there was ANOTHER 288GTO! i couldn't believe my eyes then. what are the chances that during my 2nd ever visit, there was another one that showed up?
either that was a remarkable coincidence... or there's a bunch of crazy 288 owners out there who know that ferraris are meant to be driven-- even rare ones!
here's a pic of the earlier GTO:

and another pic of the 2nd one I saw last week. the tires 335 width, same as on a Murcielago! i have some interior and detail shots, but haven't gotten around to resizing them...

and while i'm at it... check out this Benz... hmmm...

Somebody needs to come-up with a set-up with a digital camera on the dashboard connected to a steering wheel mounted button for these situations.
Please thank your co-driver/photographer for us!
(unless you thought of this idea before me).
Lovely on-track shots!
