How many of you using your TT as a daily driver?
First I would like to say hello, this is my first post although i've been lurking here for some time.
I just got a call today from my dealership to come next week to spec out my new 997TT. still debating with myself and find it hard to decide between Speed Yellow / Cobalt Blue.
I will be driving about 18 miles a day each way to my office, 90% on the highway (I-95), and since I want to enjoy my new car I most likely will use it as a daily driver.
How many of you are actually using your TT as a daily driver and do you find it practical ?
Thanks!

I have a '04 996TT Cab that's been my daily driver for 2 years now and it's just awesome. Depending on which route that I take to work it'll vary 15 to 23 miles one way. I use it exclusively and it becomes part of my exercise program, because I go to any length to reduce parking dings by seeking the distant isolated parking spots. So far warranty took care of a head gasket, carbon fiber trim's, rear light harness. I currently have around 25K miles on it and planning on doing a complete change out of all stero components, cause I plan to keep it for a while.
These are fine daily drivers
comfortable, fast, reliable, fun, handles all weather conditions.
If you're doing alot of I-95 driving, seriously consider a clear bra (I have Armor Glove) - those trucks and the crap they kick are murder on the paint.
Speed yellow if you want to say "here I am" every day

I haven't got it yet but it will be a daily drive. The 996 turbo was my daily drive and I found the 997 a lot more comfortable than that.

Great every day driver. I have had three turbos starting with 993. Each one has about 75,000 miles on them when i sold them. The more you drive them the better they are. No major problems, if you drive them a lot you should consider you will loose about $10K a year in resale value. The 997 you buy for $130K at the end of 5 years with 60-75K miles will sell for about $80K. $10K a year to drive this kind of car is not bad. If you keep it and dont' drive it you will probably not loose as much in total but your annual price will be higher on fewer years.
I have driven a 1989 930, modded and with stiffer suspension, as a daily driver for 17 years. The 997TT will feel like a Rolls in comparison. As for reliability, time will tell if all this new gizmology holds up well over time. It probably will. As for practicality of driving daily, why not?
My Turbo is a weekend driver. Having said that, hindsight being 20/20, if I were ordering a Turbo as my daily driver there are two things I would order different.
1) I would omit the sport seats. -- The sport seats are VERY comfortable, that is not why I would omit them. I would omit them because they are much more difficult to get in and out of. If I used this car for errands, commuting, etc. I would probably go for the non-sport seats. -- You really have to open the door wide to get in and out of the sport seats. With the non-sport seats, you can just slip right in and out. -- This is key if you have a small garage or park in small spaces. My garage is very tight and I have to be overly careful everytime I get in and out.
2) I would definately want the park distance controller. It is not a needed item but there have been a couple of times, parking at night, even though I am a VERY confident driver, I wish it were there. Especially if you plan to tint your windows.
Oh wait, there is one more thing I would add.
3) Adaptive seats (not sure if adaptive seats need be sport seats or not?)
Why.. Because my bro and I both use the car. He is significantly shorter than me by about 6 inches. Nothing is more annoying than trying to get into a drivers seat that is postioned for someone 6 inches shorter.
-- ALSO, with adaptive seats, you also get the passenger side view mirror that folds down to show you the curb when parking. You do not get that without adaptive seats (which I learned after my purchase.) And since our cars have fat booty's, sometimes it is hard to judge how close to the curb you are. I would have liked the folding side view mirror on my car.
And just so you understand where I am coming from, I am not a white glove driver even though I miss having these "white glove" ammenities.
I am 32, spend a lot of time at the track and drive my cars like they were meant to be driven. Again, hindsight is 20/20 and those are things I would do different.
