No, no, no... not at my dealer, I paid manu suggested price. At this local Alabama dealership, however, they had a cancellation of an order....they upped the price of this unit by the 15%.

Thanks Jamie. How's the M6? Do you notice a big diference over the M5? (other than the back seat of course)

Terk, glad to hear you are enjoying the car as much as I am enjoying mine in the same way. They truly are a supercar for everyday and I always find myself saying that to describe it to people.
As far as the Basalt Black is concerned it should be real good with regards to being pretty much swirl-free, my Audi RS6 I had pretty much the same as Basalt but they called it Ebony Black and the metallic looked great after months of washes. My 997TT is the flat black and after 5-6 washes I already have them nasty swirl marks that we all hate, have to get off my lazy bum and get rid of them one weekend.
The pictures you took are real nice, what camera are you using?
Oh yeah get them clear side markers ASAP, they are a small thing but make the car look ALOT better. : )

Enjoy her in good health and after the break in is where the fun really starts.

Thanks Bajo, I do really like Bassalt especially when the light hits the metalic at the right angles. I feel for you and the obligation we have with black cars but they look so good clean and detailed. Camera is an older Canon Powershot G3, I'm sure if I new how to use it, I could take some better pics but it works for me. I just hope I can get through break-in before the winter really hits here so I can really enjoy this beast.

that is true john, it takes about 2 weeks or less to build them. all throughout the order/build process, your order should be constantly updated in their computer. the codes are on other posts, but the first code reflects order acknowledged, then order accepted, than planned production, etc. i would expect that your dealer should be able to show you this-i know that i just got my turbo, and my dealer was updating me with the codes all the time

The hardest choice in life is whether one should buy a turbo or the GT3.

Terk,

Congrats on your new ride. Most of us, including me, are partial to this car, but damn that is one great looking car in Basalt. I second your opinions on the short shift and the overall joy of driving these things.
Enjoy in good health.

Ken
