Dilemma--Should I trade my '05 TTs coupe for 997tt?

I am considering making the generation jump to the 997tt from my 996tts. Is the 997tt that much of an improvement over my 996tt, or should I wait to see what 2008 may bring (ie, X50 package, paddle shift transmission)?

Any feedback from 997tt owners would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bob

I had a 996TTS and the 997TT is world's better...I would get one now, the depreciation will at least equal that of your 996TTS if not it should deprecite less while you await whats coming....There is always something on the backburner, get the 997TT now and trade up later if something becomes available that you must have

Bob, It really depends on your financial situation,(i.e. car is leased, P.I.F., or buying with payments outright), look at your depreciation schedule and you will probably see that the biggest hit is in the first two years anyway. With that being said, it would appear that you can move up now and enjoy a superior machine for a couple years and then again move up if something becomes available in late 08 or early 09.. Good luck with your decision..

Yes trade, I have had both 996 X-50 and 997tt. No comparison. You will probably lose big bucks but it is worth it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'd guess if you posed this same question on the 996TT area you'd get some slightly different opinions. If I were in your shoes only driving the 2 cars back-to-back would answer the question so long as money wasn't a factor. No question you will take a much bigger hit going into a brand new 997 TT as my prediction is they will see faster and worse depreciation than 996 TT did from new, besides the fact that you are already past the biggest hit on the 996. I'm assuming your 996 TTS is stock? Good luck!

No, as good/better as the 997TT is, it's only a marginal upgrade from your 996TTS imo.
