GIAC/A.W.E. ecu tuning - first impressions

Well, the boost does start alot earlier than 2700rpm, but 2700 rpm is where max boost is achieved. Regardless, my boost (6spd) does not show activity anywhere near 1600rpm, more like 2000-2200. Where does your boost hit max at?
Still, it is very interesting. I had heard on Rennteam about Porsche programming the tip cars with "pre-boost" to aid in performance. I thought it was nonsense but perhaps this could explain the difference. The torque converter would also allow more boost to build

Thanks for your vivid description of the driving experience with the reflashed ECU.
I just added the GIAC 93 octane flash from Imagine Auto, Fabspeed exhaust, and Fabspeed headers. My 997TT now feels like a new car. As you pointed out, there is no degradation in driveability, just more acceleration from any speed to any speed. No CEL's for me.
The more aggressive exhaust note and the 4-pipe tips improve the auditory and visual appeal of the car IMO.
My mechanic had great difficulties with the fragility of the factory studs and broke more than one. But the performance and sensory improvements of the Stage 3 package are amazing.

I spoke with the service manager at the dealership where I bought my car. The mere presence of the modifications will not lead him to "flag" my car. He said that if the mods cause a mechanical problem it will not be covered by the factory warranty. That seems fair.

UDDATE:
I have a couple of hundred miles on the car - almost all city and rush hour driving - since ECU install. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. It is as tractable as stock, if not better since the "lag" is cut in half once again. No crazy throttle modulation issues or jerky tip-in, no surging or stalling. It has even passed the wife + groceries test - wife after a few rides as a passenger and driver still suspects nothing.
Even better, I was able to repeatedly get FULL BOOST by 2400 rpm in 6th gear, and boost initiated at 1900-2000 rpm (sport mode). I always had felt cheated seeing the boost gauge finger spike up to 16# and then rapidly retract back to 12#. Now it stays jammed right to the edge!
