Polar Silver Turbo at Carlson Porsche

Today I drove around the Bay Area and dropped by Carlson Porsche who had 3 997 Turbos on the showroom floor (all pre-sold). 2 were Meteor grey and 1 was Polar Silver (special ordered color). The Polar Silver Turbo was STUNNING with Sea Blue interior (looked almost black). I'm so pissed that I forgot my camera but the pictures that I have seen of this color don't do it justice. Wow, right now, I am really considering this color and the salesman told me that there are several slots left for May June delivery for 6 speeds (tips are sold out untill 2008 model year). Asked for prices and they are still selling at MSRP (no exceptions). My question is: would you place an order at this point in time for an 07 or wait until the 08 model year? If I spec a custom color that will delay the car a month or so longer. By then, Porsche would be close to producing the 08 model and an 07 would be already old news. Common sense tells me to wait for the 08 model and keep my 2005 997S a bit longer? Also, does placing an order for a custom color increase its resale down the road? My guess is that would depend on the color? If anyone purchased a 997 turbo and traded in their 997S coupe, a comparison of the 2 models would be very helpfull. Its difficult to find a dealer that has a Turbo to test drive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.

Dock that color is spectacular (love you car!) but photos don't do it justice. Seeing this in person is something else! Comparing it to your photo it seemed more blue in person (it wasn't Fountain blue either) Nice ride. ThisFlyGuy I'm leaning toward that decision unless there are dealers willing to discount the 07's to fill their allocated slots. Most have 2-3 left (6spds only) so its not likely.

Get one now, why wait? The '08 will be almost ID to the '07's, except higher priced.

Chris,
do you know what the differences in the '07 vs '08 will be? why do you think they will be more expensive?
thanks
Jim

You're right, photos don't do it justice.

Polar Silver is a "light" sensitive color...it presents more blue tones in certain light, and a more true silver color in other light.

Over on rennteam RC mentioned only slight changes(LED tailights,?PDK$$) for '08, porsche traditionally has a 1-3% price increase per year.
