Not a Nissan fan, but the new GTR is really a good bargain.
The 2008 Nissan will come in three trims - Base, V-Spec, and EVO. All three trims will sport a twin-VQ V6, though the displacement is not set in stone just yet.
The base model will start out at $67,000, and put out 480 HP from the twin-turbo 6. The Big Daddy EVO will start at a jaw-dropping $94,000, and put out an impressive 530 HP. It will also weigh 220 lbs less than the base trim - Nissan really put the GTR EVO on a diet.
I don’t know if the EVO is work at extra $30 grand when compared to the base model.. sure it’s got some extra juice, and it’s lighter. But that extra $30 grand is a lot to ask for 50hp and 220 lbs less. In any case, I can’t wait for this car - can you?

yeah, too harsh and angular for my taste. the same is true for Acura and Lexus' new exotics too. The Japanese designs go too extreme sometimes. Best designs from Japan will remain original NSX, 300ZX and RX7. I would not spend the money quoted above. R8 would be a much better looking car
Are you kidding me? For that price there is not a chance in hell i will spend that money on a Nissan. No matter how fast the thing is, it is ultimately a Nissan. If I am spending 94000 on a Nissan then I can surely save a few more pennies and get my Turbo a true family member... GT3 or something else.
We'll see. All the numbers from HP to the Nordschleife time of 7:15 (whatever
) are pure speculation.
Personally, I think it's going to be a disappointment. Just because it was on the track with a 997TT doesn't mean it can hold a candle to it.

If it were an Infiniti, I would be interested. Spending that much money (even the base model) on a Nissan is just ludicrous. Just lke VW selling the Phaeton under the VW franchise. If it did a new franchise (like Toyota did with Lexus), it would have done much better.
I can't imagine the Nissan techs who are used to fixing 10 Sentras a day working on a $94K car in the same service dept. Just for the anticipated service experience alone, I am not getting one.
