GT silver is not even close to seal grey, the later much darker, closer to meteor grey. It's like, silver vs grey.

GT silver was first offered on the 40th anniversary 911 996 a couple of years ago, that is of course, after it first appeared on the Carrara GT.

Percentages approximate...note the red in the GT Silver.

GT Silver
36% Pearl White
43% Brilliant Silver
7% Special Black
10% Fine Pearl White
2.5% Ruby Pearl
1.5% Dark Blue

Arctic
29% Fine Silver
67% Course Silver
1% Fine White
1.9% Black
1% White
0.1% Yellow
Wow, great info. If they were both free, I'd go GT Silver but wouldn't pay the extra cost for it.

Check out the formula for GT Silver vs Arctic..................GT has 2.5% ruby pearl. Thats where the violet hue (under flourescent light) comes to life. Also dark blue 1.5%. Check out the yellow in Arctic but not in GT. Also GT has a lot more black,

Arctic is 96% silver and GT is only 43% so how can we call it silver with less than 50%+1 in silver. I call it grey almost silver looking.

If I were contemplating GT Silver, I would want the wheels painted GT Silver, too. I'm not crazy about Artic Silver wheels on a GT Silver car - not that it looks bad, just not as good as it could.

The 996 Turbo S looked great in GT Silver with the standard Turbo S GT Silver wheels.

On the 997TT this is not an issue since wheels ar high polished w/black inside the spokes as opposed to arctic
