my car situation...

so... after I get my 997tt next week (finally!!!!) I will have a 2006 M3 & 2007 Acura MDX. I own them both. now, what to do with the M3. The MDX is my daily driver. I drive the freeways between LA & OC. should I keep the M3 for track use. or should I sell it an invest in a cruiser like a 750i or S550? opinions? The Turbo is a sunday beach driver. it will see track time too. so, keep the M3, (which I love) or go for a big sedan cruiser in its place?

You won't drive the M3 much after you get the TT. Trust me.

You have a two door sports car, and a hauler. Can't go wrong with an S550.
Also check out the A8. I personally like the S550 way more, but everybody's saying the Audi is a very good car also.

Why not an SUV, e.g RR Sport as a cruiser?

I think you should sell the M3, and get yourself a sedan like the S550 or the 750il. We have a 750 and I love it, but I really love the new S550, big improvement over the last Sclass.

Seems like you don't care for a particularly exciting dd, SO I say keep the MDX and use it for the monotonous commute and turn your M3 into an Elise/Exige. That way, you have two COMPLETELY different (but to immensely fun in their own right) cars to choose from on the weekends. The Turbo will definitely cast a shadow on the M3, but a Lotus is so wildly different, it would be a great compliment.

So my proposal is:
Daily- MDX
Weekend bruiser/occasional track: 997tt
Weekend play/track: Elise/Exige.

HAHA! Yes, but looks like you need to get it a bit faster. My speedo is above 165, and I have video reaching up to 173. Gotta find the video. The governer never kicked in.

The M3 was my daily for about a year. I am 6'3" 230lbs so, trust me, the day I got my MDX was a good one! I commute 45 miles each way everyday, so comfort, reliability and cost were priority #1. hence, the "soccer mom" MDX - even though I am 26 and single (my practical side showing through)

Understood - I'm impressed - 26 and practical - I'm 40 and I'm convincing myself I need an AMV8 real bad! between driving the TT; SL55 and 335!
