OMG-What a car!!
OMG-What a car!!
Had a wonderful 325 mile trip home from the dealer Saturday with my tt. Still can't believe it's mine! The required pics follow and here are my specs:
Meteor Gray/black, rear axle diff lock, thicker steering wheel, extended nav, 6 pak CD, sport chrono, adaptive seats, and short shifter. None of the fancy leather extras--must say when I first saw the car I thought of that beautiful red stitching in avi8tir's car. My state requires a front plate and I don't have the heart to drill holes in the bumper, so I'll try one of those tow hook hole plate adapters. My wife was mad at all you folks saying: "All you do is read about cars on the internet which gets you fired up to buy more". But I couldn't keep her out of it yesterday so she's forgotten all that.

Congradulations on your new car, May I say that its nicely spec'd as the combination you choose is not too sporty or elegant just fits nicely for a daily driver and not to bright on the eyes too.
What I would do is to paint the inners of the wheel's in Meteor Grey like the option on the Porsche Configurator.

Good taste, almost identicle to mine except I did the Cocoa interior. More pics!! I'm jonesing here 'cause my car is still in Germany!
Congrats on the car. Looks great,, like all of our TTs!!
I just got back from a 200 mile rt in the car... I can also say, OMG.
NO one messes with this car as opposed to the C2 Cab. Mustangs, Vettes (non Z06) and rice burners,, once they see you have a TT,, they just lay low,, It was never like this with my NA Porsches. What a high.
I did try for a jiff,, a sprint from 70 to 130 on I-95,, no cars near me and a big truck abt 1/4 mile in front of me.. I just punched it in 6th gear,,, It just took off and I stopped at a buck thirty... wow..
That was the big thrill today. THe V1 picked up all the radar on the FL pike and I 95 so no problem with tickets.
This car is so special..
Don
cant wait to get 2,500 miles,, (have 500 now) although I was up to 5,000 rpms getting on the Fl Pike,, just wanted the rush from 35 on the ramp to 85 at merge... wow pinch pinch (i love watching the gas gauge go down and down in such a short time when you get on this car...)

You guys are great. I'm on the July delivery plan (g) and am losing my mind. Reading these posts gives me warm fuzzies about waiting the long delivery times (4+ months) and hope to share my enthusiasum (sp) as you have. Keep it coming!
I would follow the prescribed breakin as closely as possible, at least for a thousand miles. What's the down side?
With a 50k car, who cares, 'drive it like you stole it', but at 130k price point, might want to rethink that, just vary the rpm's and keep it below 5k.

Another good reason not to buy a car that has been "flipped", this "drive it like you stole it" frame of mind. I'm keeping mine and planning to follow the breakin as close as possible, at least to 1000 miles just like my Carrera.
Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm trying to observe somewhat of a breakin period but it sure does get to 5k RPM pretty quickly and seems to like 4k as a shift point. Been turning the sport button on and leaving PASM in normal mode as soon as I start it. Roads are just too rough in the Midwest to use the stiff shock setting. Adaptive seats are great; very comfortable. The growl of the engine is perfect for me---maybe they have improved the exhaust note since the first ones came out which I saw mentioned somewhere. Regular brakes are very responsive---but my comparison is mushy E55 brakes. The stereo sounds fine but so far I've preferred to just listen to the engine. And the looks this car gets! There's a small voice in there dreaming about being single again---but we'd never tell our wives that, would we!
