Side Marker Bulb Replacement

I couldn't find a DIY thread on this, so after figuring it out I decided to start one.

To remove/replace the light bulb in the side marker light on the front fender take a plastic pry bar (I used a plastic bicycle tire iron), insert it on the front edge of the lens, lift and push back the lens. It will pop right out. Once out, twist the rubber bulb socket/holder and pull it away from the lens. The bulb is now easily removed and replaced. Reverse the process for refitting the bulb socket/holder in the lens unit. The lens is then reinstalled in the fender by placing the tangs on the front of the lens in the corresponding slot in the fender and snapping the rear of the lens in place. Both sides can be done in less than 5 minutes, if you have a proper plastic pry tool.

I keep a nice little pocket flat-head screw driver with me (I have a Snap-On which has a strong magnet on the opposite side) and it is a smooth in and out.

That's what HUMMM 3 did. He took the clear markers off to replace the amber bulbs with those chromalights.

I read the porsche manual and it was impossible doing it the way they suggested, so I use a small screw driver on the front of the lense and pop,, right out in 2 seconds.

Its a very easy DIY project.

I am still thinking on replacing the OEM amber bulbs.

The clear lenses are growing on me and will probably stay.
