997TT owners with a chip....not too many?

Ive been searching about information on Chips for the 997TT but have found a lack of info. I havent seen too many owners on here that have a Chip ONLY. I was intrested in doing this to my TT but was wondering if it will hurt the logevity of my engine. I saw you need to remove the ECU and send it to GIAC(not sure what that is).

How much power increase should i expect with a chip only?

appreciate it

I am not sure about the GIAC alone, but here are the before and after dynos with chip, headers, and exhaust:

I think one of the reasons you haven't seen many chipped 997TT's is because they are easier for the factory to trace and will void warranty's, some dealerships are mod friendly, so if you plan to mod, do your homework before you buy the car. Once the Warranty periods start to come up, I'm sure you will start to see many more modified 997TT's. But if warranty is of no consequence to you, those numbers posted above are NICE and can't be ignored!!!!

I think you should be looking at at least ECU + Exhaust at least if you want to have the most benefit

I started with just a Protomotive ECU upgrade and no other mods. It literally transformed the car. The reason I didn't stick with "just" the ECU upgrade is the usual... the quest for mo powah

with GIAC flash you should see about. Yes you have to either send out the ECU to be flashed. But it's a pretty simple procedure
  • +58 crank hp and +45 crank tq in sport boost mode when used with stock muffler
it's quite an upgrade. Our 997TT guys love it.

Most customers prefer to do an ECU with full exhaust for the best bang.

FVD has programming available for both 6 speed and tiptronic 997 TT models. While we are still franticly working on a do-it-yourself flashload version of this program, and because the ECU has to be sent to us, we are offering a FREE BMC FILTER with the purchase of our program for 6 speed online members. Check back for our thread about to be posted regarding this offer for more info as well as dyno sheets with performance numbers. Thanks !

Pulling the ecu is a simple enough process and easy to get to, if you over-night us the ECU we bench flash it with the GIAC Software and have it back in the mail that day. The car is only down 2 days and well worth it. An intake and exhaust will certainly make a difference in the mix but the Flash alone is also a considerable boost in power. The numbers listed look correct.
