Thumbs up 997.1 GT2 Clutch Conversion Kits

Now available from SpeedTech for your 997.1 TT! If you are looking for a more consistent pedal feel with positive feedback from your clutch and are sick of the vague/soft OEM feel; this is your upgrade. Definitely a good investment if you are upgrading clutches, you will not regret it. One of my personal favorite modifications.

PM for delivered 6Speed Pricing. Kits to fit 996TT-997.1TT ('01-'09)

If my stock clutch slave cylinder has failed will this kit eliminate the need for that? Since it's at the dealer right now waiting to hear if Porsche will pick up the tab since I'm 3 months past warranty with 20k miles. If they will not cover it I plan to order it.

Hi Otis,

The kit will not eliminate the slave, but it will replace it with a different "GT2" style slave that is smaller and lighter. The kit includes the slave and everything else required (even the proper fluid) for a complete installation.

The GT2 slave is smaller, lighter and uses DOT 4 brake fluid vs. pentosin brake fluid, which is extremely flamable and corrosive, if leaking. The conversion also eliminates the accumulator, which is prone to failure. The clutch becomes non-power assisted vs. OEM power assisted, which makes for increased pedal force to actuate the clutch, but offers the benefit of providing complete feel for the clutch. With the precise feedback of a non-assisted system, engaging from a stop becomes totally predictable and feathering is very precise. The OEM power assisted system is known for vague, unpredictable feel that is never the same and impossible to get used to, as it varies each time. This modification makes driving/clutching the car much more enjoyable/predictable and is used on the GT2 and GT3 cars. Everyone that does this modification loves it.
