Thanks for the post BigL, the current IPD Plenum lineup fits 997.1 models. We are finishing up with development & testing on the new IPD Plenum for 997.2 DFI models and the product will be available soon. I will keep everyone informed as we get closer to launching it. Here is a link to the thread with the DFI prototype:

Hi Gundo, on your 2006 997S - No. Since the motor will only accept a certain amount of air intake, the enlarged throttle body doesn't offer a significant benefit gain in this particular application (only 1-2 HP). You will however notice more HP/TQ and improved acceleration and throttle response with the simple addition of the IPD Plenum. Feel free to contact us with further questions. Thanks.

Bryan,

It appears in the advertisement that the plenum has a new matte black finish, vs the older aluminum finish. Is this correct or is it just the lighting? Also, do you know if there have been any production line tweaks to the IPD plenum over the years and if so, what they may be? Really I'm interested to know if the brand new plenums today are exactly the same as those made early on when they first came out. Thanks a bunch - that's a great sale price!

Nexus-6,

Thanks for the post. The IPD Plenum in the ad is not matte black, it may be the monitor and/or the subtle lighting shift. The exterior of the plenum is dark gray/silver. Like most products, there have been some subtle refinements to the plenum over the years including updates on the inner diversion, improved finishing and performance. We still offer the 100% money back guarantee for those looking for some extra pep for their Porsche. Thanks. B

As I was often critical about this plenum idea and concept - I have to say one of significant improvements I see now - car behaves much better on very low speeds. When I have to go in traffic at 4-5 miles per hour on 1st gear or very slow on 2nd gear - it goes way much more smooth now and all prior jerkiness is gone. Whatever reason of that can be the only change done was plenum install, so, it`s just what I have. Feels that engine breaths better and throttle is more responsive. Your milage can vary.

And there is definitely an expected improvement at 5.5K+ RPM. So, even if seemed too pricey (what is probably true), this plenum does work as advertised.
Decide for yourself.

What is the bolt pattern of the throttle body used with this? 75 x 75mm?
