That's a shame, because it's that brief moment from 5k to 7k rpm that is so exhilirating and I would want the exhaust to reflect that. Have you heard fred's gt3rs video from sharkwerks (he changes his exhaust more times than my underwear.) That thing was screaming in the video. Once again, maybe in real life it is much too loud for normal driving.

Thoughts?

Just go to a meet and hear all the different exhausts for yourself. None of the mufflers make any power and you can't see them, so it all boils down to which one you feel sounds the best. It's not that complicated of a decision.

Don't get me wrong it is definitely more aggressive than OEM, but just not as raw as I want.

Mufflers AWE or fabspeed

It seems like this is very subjective. I have been contemplating between tubi, awe and fabspeed for around 6 months and still don't have a conclusion (I'm not in a rush either.) I love how the tubi sounds on the champion website, but seems too pricey for me. I think most people recommend AWE, yet people are stating it's not that loud, which seems contrary to what I've heard. Also, others have stated that AWE doesn't sound that great at WOT above 4k rpm. My response to that is why would you want an exhaust that sounds great at half throttle below 4k rpm? Something sounds strange. Can someone give more insight.

Many thanks.
Somebody who will give me a replay on that one……

I have the same problem AWE or Fabspeed..?

I had the complete AWE system on my car and found it to loud inside and out.

I tried going with AWE headers and Cats and using the Stock muffler but did not like the sound.

Changed the Stock muffler for a REMUS and I am one happy camper. It seemed very quiet at first but has grown louder with use. Still very pleasant in the car but I have to keep it under 4K through the neighborhood.

My wife informed how loud it was when she was inside a neighbors house with their A/C running and I went above 4K.

Bottom line I think AWE has the best header design for power. A very noticeable difference in power when I out the system on.

Tubi!!!!!

I had Champion install TUBI, WERKS boxes & reflash about a year ago. Never looked back it was a great investment as I think I will get some of it back someday, more than if some tuner changed me out to AWE. The performance is very noticeable as is the sound.... I am in SF for the month & I beat on the car everyday in the city and in the country along the coast... its the most fun I have ever had sitting down with no one on my lap. GO TUBI!!!!
