Thumbs down Top gear or missed gear?

I have always been a fan of Top Gear the clever and often informative import from BBC, but in a recent episode they went to great lenghts to expose the worst of the United States while ignoring anything positive. They would never have done that toa Ford Focus, So why us? We could easily respond with tales of soccer holigans and British race riots, But we colonials are above that. I encourage our friends across the pond to stick to cars and leave politics to others.

JC has always been rather anti-American so no surprise. To me Jeremy, and Top Gear in general, is mostly about being amusing and opinionated then anything else. 5th Gear and Tiff, on the other hand, has seemed more about the good reviews and real test driving (I love watching Tiff whip a car around, he so clearly enjoys it to its fullest).

I really miss Auto Motor and Sport, that show had beautiful photography and good honest head to head comparos - can't find it on TV anymore tho

They did take some shots at us on that, but come on it was more shots at the "Southern Redneck" of which I am one than anything else. I love the show and take it for what it is. Some blokes having a great time driving some great cars, and throwing in some rather brilliant antics and entertainment along the way. They make fun of themselves as well.

Thats why I prefer Fifth Gear when I want a review since Tiff actually has race credentials, however what I get out of top gear is pure entertainment

Best Motoring is pretty good show also. But most epsiodes you have to be able to understand Japanese or read Chinese subtitle or have some really bad english translation done.

It's Clarkson, consider the source. He's an entertainer.
