PICS: New parts for my Carrera S

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share photos of the new stuff I just got in for my car. I'll update you guys with full pictures of them actually on the car once it happens, but it seems that it will be probably a month from now due to my busy work schedule.

New HRE wheels mounted on Michelin Pilot Sports from Ben at WheelsBoutique (6speed sponsor and awesome deal maker!)

Bilsteins PSS Coilovers

My car is a Black/Black '06 Carrera S, currently getting RUF front bumper and soon Techart sideskirts.

Hopefully all the pieces will fit well together

Thanks fellas... no these are the PSS PASM compatible coilovers. They are just called PSS, supposedly since they still work with my PASM button. I'll definitely post once its all done.

I forgot to mention that I recently bought V35's (another 6speed member with an awesome Black 997 with mods) Carbon fiber rear diffuser:

Thanks again for selling this to me, v35. I'll give everyone an update in a month. Hopefully it will be sunny in Santana Row still so it can be seen in person.

I plan to lower the car at/about stock GT3 height (something like 1.5 inches in front, 2" in the back, but I'm not sure), per TY328's recommendation. I don't want too much of a drop since my new wheels are 20 inches, and the ride will be somewhat harsher.

Can you post a pictures of the coilovers? Never seen a picture of the PSS only the PSS9.

You say you are planning to lower 1,5" inch front 2" inch rear. These coilovers are from factory already lower than stock PASM. How much will you adjust to get your wanted height reduction.

Does this PSS suspension get lower after some driving or will it remain as when installed?

I can post a few pics of the coilovers once I get home. Nothing very special, just looks like a regular strut tower with blue springs, and a wire attaching to PASM.

I'm not sure how much lower from stock settings I have to lower it. An installer with experience would have to chime in and help us on that one.

From what I understand, this suspension does not "settle in" like springs do, and get lower over time. Since the shock and spring are appropriately "paired" for each other in terms of spring rates and compliance, they are pretty much set from the time you install them. (speaking of "settled in" springs, I do have a pair of used H&R's available in the For Sale section of the forums: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=104681 )

I'll be able to give you a better description once installed over the next few weeks.

Why are you putting on performance suspension shocks, obviously to help cornering and traction but going with 20" wheels which will hurt performance?

I really didn't want to go with springs as my miles are getting pretty high, and I'm sure the shocks would have given out pretty soon on new springs. I figure the coilovers were the way to go for the next few thousands of miles of driving.

I read that the Bilsteins are pretty good for track and street, but many state that Ohlins and JRZ suspensions are more track oriented (and more costly). Again, the Bilsteins seem to be the best compromise for the street (PASM compatibility) and the occasional track/autocross day for which I'll snap back on my stock wheels.
