PSS9 install

I bought some PSS9's that already have the tops of the the shocks attached so the coilovers won't need to be disassembled for re-attaching the stock shock tops... All I need to do is swap out the stock coilovers and put these in... How long should this take a shop to do?

Also how long to install front/rear strut braces?

Thanks

6 hours usually, plus an alignment (usually 2 to 2.5 hours depends on whether its a c2 or c4) depends on the shop. but seems standard, see posts in 996 section

I see you have a 997S.

Do you have PASM on the car?

If so, you will need to turn off the PASM system via the factory scan tool, or you will have warning lights on your dash all the time.

We made a document outlining the procedure:

We would charge 6.5 hrs total including alignment for a normal install. I'd say knock off 1 hr or so if the coilovers were pre-assembled.

Add 1 hr flat rate for PASM recode.

Oops. Saw you had strut braces, too. Add 1.5 hrs total for that procedure.

Why turn off PASM if the kit is PSS for PASM?

Right ... this is the kit that does not support PASM... I don't use it anyway ... slows you down on the track!

Does anyone happen to know if the PSS damptronic come completely assembled or do you have to use the stock top mounts? I am debating on whether to do the install myself and then have the alignment done by a shop or have the shop do the entire thing. Those of you that have these on your car, or better yet have installed them yourself, please post!

They do NOT come completely assembled... you have to disassemble the entire shock unless you purchase a set of stock shock tops from Porsche for the PSS9's... that way you can easily swap them in or out!
