Bilstein Dampgards

Anyone here with experience with Bilstein Damptonics on a 997S with PASM? I am considering them for my ride which is primarily a street car with a very occasional track day. Looking for feedback on ride quality, handling improvement and amount of lowering. I would like to see about a 1" drop.

Are you referring to the PSS damptronic coil-overs? I have had them on my car since mid Dec and the improvement in handling is a huge difference. Mine is lowered around 1.25" and is corner balanced. The ride is slightly stiffer than stock but the ride is still very good imho.

Thanks M3. Yeah, Damptronics is what I meant to say. Thanks for your response. Sounds like just the ticket. What is the range of height adjustability? Do they work as advertised with the PASM? Also noticed your exhaust system is what I'm considering. I've been told the headers make little or no difference. WHat do you think? If 90% of any advantage (sound or power) is there with just the cats and cans, I will probably take that route.

Damptronics

I have had the Damptronics for about 2 months. They are fabulous.........a little stiffer than stock but very doable. The PASM function works fine......just like stock with the firm setting either on or off. The car feels much more planted and the turn-in response is vastly improved. The work was done by GMG and corner balanced as well..........great service there!!

The ride height adjustability is very good. I would not want to lower the car any more than it is now, so that is all I need (it can go lower in case you are wondering). I have also been told that most of the power is from the high flow cats and that the headers are only good for like 3-5hp. That is why I got the x51 headers for $600 shipped with all gaskets, bolts, etc instead of spending $1500 on AWE ones. I figured if I am changing the cats and mufflers I might as well change the headers to the x51 for a few extra hp.

Bilstein Damptronics for C2S

I thought these were only currently available for the C4 and C4S and that the C2/2S versions were coming out later this year?????

Damptronics are the way to go! Better ride height and they are even more composed over varying surfaces. They ride somewhat stiffer (somewhere between the stock PASM on and off modes), but they can still be used for daily driving.

The Damptronics have been available for the C2/S for quite sometime now.

Overall, they are one of the best mods for the car, as they improve drivability, turn-in, and looks!

Anywhere between 800-1400 bucks depending on your installer. I highly recommend going with an experienced and reputable shop.

Bilstein Damptonic, PSS Damptronic coil-overs, PSS Coil-overs or PSS9.
All the same, just make sure when you order your PSS Damptonics it’s for PSAM. Part # should be GA5-B560-H0 (U.S. Version).
I have PSS Damptronic on my car over 6 months, I took it to track 2 times last year run great.
Like everybody said “ride is slightly stiffer than stock” I can’ t tell that much different. My suggestion is get a ride with someone with PSS Damptonic in your area? Here’s my last track photo on 12/07.

Not worried about the stiffness...to me at the track the sport mode still has to much nose dive under braking and body lean in turns.

The only thing keeping me from getting the PSS9 right now is I do not know how long I will keep this car. I am on the wait list for when the new sequential dual clutch tranny w/ paddle shifters comes out.

I am guessing it will probably be at least another year before that is available, not to mention that you may want to skip the first production year on a new type of gearbox for them to work out any bugs that will be present with it. The damptronics are great...I say go for it now.

between $800 and 1400 is a HUGE spread! What have you all paid for the damptronics and the install?
