What should I do?

Hi Guys,

Finally I can post, feels great!

I've been hearing about face lifts on the 997 models.

I just ordered my 08 C4S.Delivery should be end of May 08.
Just wondering from you fanatics was this a good move or should I cancel and wait for the revised 997 model.

I mean they will include led lights, that where all the companys are going and my model doesn't have it. Also more horsepower kind of makes me wonder.
Or should I just enjoy my baby and close my eyes to anything that will happen in the future .

Great to be part of this guys!

380hp vs 355hp, probably equal or better gas mileage, and any model you buy now will take a bigger hit on resale due to the facelift and changes. I say if you can wait it out then wait. But on the other hand it sure would be nice to enjoy your car over the entire summer...decisions decisions lol.

How soon you need the car?
How much discount you can get now vs for a 2009 built?
Do you like the new look?

Here is why I got my new car now
1. I don't really like the new look. Love the classic look now.
2. I got a huge discount on the current one.
3. I don't need more HP.
4. Concern about the reliability of the new engine/set up.
5. Don't want to wait.

Tough decision . Waiting gives you the choice of seeing both cars before you decide . Plus after the 09 is out if you prefer the 08 a used or leftover car will offer cost savings . Time is on your side.

Good luck either way.

Thanks for the feedback,

I guess it's a tough decision, but I think I don't want to wait so I'am going to go with the 08 model. I love the carrera 4s I ordered.

Is the increase in horsepower offical or is it just rumers out there?

Nothing is official yet. There was lots of speculation that the new car would debut at the Geneva auto show next month but that is highly unlikely given that there has not yet been any kind of press release.

I say get what you want - especially if you are getting a discount on your '08. Odds are that the facelifted car will be selling for much closer to full MSRP for the short term after its intro.

Get it, personalize it, and enjoy your car! The facelift changes will be negligible, plus the current lights look better anyway, IMHO. More horsepower is always a great thing, but the hp gain is nothing significant since it is still less than 400hp (which is a shame given that the super sedans for 2008 are now equipped with well over 400hp).

What would be more impressive is if the facelift included a drastic weight reduction!

get it now, you'll forget that there will be a "new model" on your drive home from the dealer;
you can plan for a new one 2-3yrs down the road.

Same boat as you with my April build C2S Cab. I have decided not to wait as the new changes (short of inc in hp) weren't enough to keep me from getting the 2008. Also got a great deal

Thanks!

I guess you said it right to enjoy it in good health.

After all in life if things go right and were healthy to drive we will all upgade to a newer model in the future.
But for now lets enjoy this classical look 911 and show everyone what legends were fortunate to drive.

See Ya
