Extended Warranty??
Hello everyone! I'm taking delivery of my 1st Porsche in about a month. A beautiful silver with black interior and top c2s cab. Six speed with turbo wheels! Can anyone give me any suggestions on an extended warranty? It seems that there are many types. I plan to keep the car for about 10 years so it may be worth it. Thanks!!!!
You don't need to buy the warranty right away. Drive it a couple of years. You may not decide to keep it for 10 years. You may want a new one. No need to spend the money on something you think you may want in 4 years. Wait and see.
I've had extended warranties on several Porsches: a 911 and a Boxster S. Never used a dime of the extended warranty. I will not buy an extended warranty ever again. Not worth it, especially if you are the original owner and know that the car has not been abused. Porsche makes a well engineered product and with the exception of the RMS defect, largely on 996 engines, it has had an excellent reliability record.
You will always need one if you don't buy one. Just seems to work that way. Its piece of mind, if you buy one only go with the porsche one. Also, Its always cheaper to buy it up front, the more miles you have the higher the price and shorter the coverage.
JM&A is Fidelity.. Thats what we sell. Great company, just get the Platinum coverage. They are the biggest aftermarket warranty co in the southeast.. Owned by Jim Moran and associates(jm&a)who started southeastern toyota, the port were every toyota that came to the US for the South went through..Very deep pockets..

Of course it's cheaper up front. Time value of money. Why would you possibly pay for something today that by definition will not be used for four years?
Price changes as the miles go up. ours adjusts every 10k the length of coverage drops and the price goes up.. The prices normally increase across the board every year. Its a judgement call, if you want the peace of mind do it... If you want to self-insure thats fine too.. All depends on opinion.
