Your thoughts on the Carrera Red interior
I have owned two 993s with Silver over Flamenco Red leather, a Polar Silver cab and an Arctic turbo, for a total of nine years or so. I LOVED the red interior every time I got in the car and could not agree with you more: classic Porsche colors, show car looks, special without being garish, and ages to a gorgeous patina (think about those Mercedes 300SL Gullwings.
I always felt that the car presented a very masculine exterior balanced with a feminine interior.
Now, see how it feels to drive around in your new car while secretly wearing your wife's underwear!

The salesman was being refreshingly forthright and told me to look at it like this.
You have 10 potential buyers. 3 will absolutely love the color, 4 will be indifferent and 3 will hate it. If you had the black interior the same 10 would be 2/7/1. The message is that the car will be more attractive to some and less attractive to others.
And while I absolutely love the color combo... (I just went out and sat in the car last night for a good 20 minutes to feel and smell the leather), I think he's right.
I sold both of my Silver/Red cars with no delay for all the money that I asked for. It helped that they were enthusiast owned 993s, but even so. Some colors are deal killers, but not silver, and not that combo.
To be honest, I bought the car for me not for the next owner anyway so if down the road it's a little harder to sell... so be it. For now, I'm going to love it for what it is... gorgeous
exactly. well said. now where the Hell are the pix boss?
I know, I know... I haven't even driven the car since Sunday. I'm going to the local PCA breakfast tomorrow morning and then hopefully spending some quality time detailing the car on Sunday.
I have a few pic's already from when I drove home, but they're not that good.

Looking forward to seeing your car tomorrow morning.
Way to go and stick to your original inclination...
Silver/red...black/red...white/red...just don't see how you can go wrong with this combo. I've even seen a red M3 with factory red leather and it looked better than you would think.
My first car, an 86 Buick Skylark, was white with red leather. I've been hooked ever since, even swapped the interior on my 350 to red cause it's not available by Nissan here in the states.

Pleasure meeting you this morning Ken.
All of you at the PCA meeting made me feel very, very welcome.
