Your thoughts on the Carrera Red interior
My wife and I saw a beautiful 997S today in Silver with the Carrera Red Special Leather interior (sports seats). The car had the deviating carpet to break up all red and matching black floor mats.
My wife and I thought the car was simply stunning and very classic but the salesman told us that this was proving a very hard combination to sell.
I know many of you are like me and like the cocoa interior but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Carrera Red interior.

I would get very tired , very fast with this interior color. I'm not a big fan of red and even though it does nicely contrast aluminum it's simply so bright that I find it over the top.
If you want something different than the standard colors take a look at this interior which I find beautiful in post number 4 on this thread .

My 1st car was a 89 Mustang GT in white with Red interior. I loved it, and have always had a soft spot for red interiors.
Saying that I find the Porsche Red interior just too much. I want to like it, but just do not. I thinks the red they use it way too bright. Very hard to look at for long times.

My personal opinion: red interior is a hideous as the day is long.
Here in Atlanta, there are many high-end cars for sale (Porsche, Mercedes, BMW- even Lambo's and Ferrari's) that are black with red interior due to ATL being a town with many athletes who play or played for the Bulldogs, Hawks, or Falcons. Those are their team colors, and so they're popular colors for athletes' cars.
Resale is such a challenge on a red interior car. In some cases, I've seen dealers re-do the entire interior in order to sell it.
But if you love it, and don't care about resale, then go for it.

I like red...it is one of my favorite colors but the all red interiors of some of the new 997's is a bit much. I am more into the details and would prefer a mostly black interior with red stiching on the black leather and the center of the seats in red and a small part of the door interior in red. The red carpet, red seats, red steering wheel is too much.
I saw a Cayman S in these colors and loved it. I have also seen an older 993 with Red leather and white exterior. I was struck by how handsome the leather looks as it ages. Like an old leather bound book. It may not be for everybody but I would go for it. Much better than the standard black or sand beige.
