Hello, I need a bit of help getting some small items done in NYC. I need a Blinder laser detector installed and my V! hardwired. I also need a pedal set installed. Does anyone know anybody that wouldn't mind these small jobs and would do them well? Thanks!

I realize you are asking about Manhattan, but if you don't mind taking a pleasant and short trip to Stamford CT, i very strongly recommend ICS Performance. The guys are absolutely awesome, many of their projects are featured in European Car Magazine and various tuner and specialized magazines (e.g. Rondell). They have done unique one-off projects for Porsches, BMWs, MBs, and other fine cars. Well worth the trip.

Pricing is very reasonable and comensurate with the level of professionalism and expertise they display. I have done most of my mods there, as well as regular maintenance work, always very satisfied (and for me it is a bigger hike since I often come from NJ)

They also did a brutal job on my buddy's M3 - had to take it to another shop to fix their 'work'...

+1 on Matt from Detailing Dynamics - they do great work as well.

 

Bobby Singh @ Manhatan Motorsports did an excellent job etching my mirror for a V1 and also installed my LPP laser jammer. Very clean job... PM me for details.

 

Oh my, very very sorry to hear. My experience with ICS has been quite the opposite, hence why I went out and recommended them. I am not afiliated wth them in any way, so nothing to gain or lose by their business. My thoughts were predicated based on my own positive experience for the several years I have been going there (both mods and maintenance on my M5), knowing how tough it is these days to find a worthy and trusted tuner shop. In fact, ICS is among the better respected tuners on the M5 Board (and have been asked by the the forum administrator to become sponsors given all the positive feedback from many members).

I guess with the law of large numbers, one can get the 'bad' along with the (mostly) 'good'. You can see testimonies on both sides of the spectrum, I've seen people coming for help after spending $70K on a Dinan Supercharger system with problems, which Dinan themselves had a hard time addressing yet ICS cracked through them. They have been instrumental even now helping me check out a P-car I am considering purchasing. But to each their own, I can see why some people may have diverging views....
