reality check help me out guys
Hello everyone,
First off want to say thanks to everyone for the knowledge on this board, it has gotten me up to speed on my car search pretty quickly.
I'm now looking for opinions on realistic pricing. I am looking (obsessively) for a 06 C2S -- black or basalt, black or grey interior, sport chrono. Would also be highly tempted by any other extras (carbon interior, aero kit, PSE, wheels, etc...)
and under 15K miles.
Is it reasonable to expect to find this car with some 'extras' (aero kit, wheels, etc...) for 65K or under?'
What throws me is that when i search on Cars.com and autotrader, prices at dealerships are often $77K+. This seems quite high to me when i'm pretty sure I could get an 08 off the lot for pretty close to that. I guess the big question is, do they just price them that high for 'suckers' and I have a realistic chance of negotiating them down to my target?
All opinions welcomed.
thanks,
Alan

there is no way to get an 08 c2s for less than 90 with it decently optioned. I dont know where u saw any 08 s's for that price, 70 should be your target price...that is realistic give or take 2k, otherwise u r truly mistaken. do some research by calling some dealers in your area who have 06s in stock and see what their willing to deal out. I found that the more the car is priced at the more room you have to negotiate.
Alan,
I know you said you wanted black, but a 6speeder is selling his car, seems like a good deal. Check it out.

you could get an 05 with little options for that price easy. An optioned 06 at that price would be a find for sure. Good luck. I got my 05 S with 10k miles and sport crono for 65k. but after 5k for wheels and 15k in other mods ......I'm not going to think about it hahaah

I think that this is a good deal, if I was looking for a car I would be all over it.
Loeber--chicago
I just picked up an 06 C2, Meteor Black, sport seats, leather a few other options, but pretty light on them overall. 10,000 miles and CPO warranty for 62,000. Call Bob Everett at Loeber, he treated me well.

The dealerships and high end used car vendors can ask any price but they aren't going to get some of the unrealistic highs you mention.
My advice -- If you want to pay 65K for an 06 choose a low miles well maintained car with the necessity options above a high milelage hard driven car which looks better . You can always add the aerokit but what you can't add is good dose of reliability .

response to no joke
They didn't move a whole lot as I recall. From 64 to 62 or 61.5, can't recall the exact number. But, I ran there prices against other Chicago dealers with similarly optioned cars with similar miles and they were alot lower. So, I wasn't concerned about lack of movement. Alot of dealers price high and then make you work for the right price. Others seem to set reasonable prices and hope to draw the traffic.
Frankly, I hate the negotiation phase of the process. It is hard to walk away not feeling like you got the shaft somehow. I prefer the no haggle system, lets me compare apples to apples and make a decision.... Dealers who price high and come down alot create a feeling of mistrust in me....it's like they are hoping I am stupid and will pay asking price and if I am not, then I have to play some game to get a reasonable price.

05 Maserati Coupe Cambio....Traded in--sitting at loeber! if you want one, this is the one to get!
