For the person that started this thread toaccuse the seller of scamming potential buyers with false promises for the product to say that he does not have enough time for independent corroboration of the results is simply outrageous.

If you don't have the backbone to stand up to what you claim, don't make inflammatory posts like this. There are many differing opinions expressed on this forum, but we expect them all to be honest and truthful.

So just because I know more than enough to want to protect others from being lured obliges me to spend half a day at a dyno? *g*

They still have an opportunity to prove what they claim (more power improvement than X51) with an unbiassed test with another forum member. All tests (except for theirs) so far prove power loss... doing this could improve their sales even more than the power they claim to improve!
And it would at least end this discussion once and for all... I will make sure of that by posting the results!

Dominique, it is to bad you can't make the time to do this, especially after you have such strong opinions on our products and our business ethics.

The offer still stands and if you are ever in the Costa Mesa area please feel free to stop by and tour our mfg facility and meet us personally so you may have a better understanding of who we are and what we do.

Wow, now that is how a vendor should handle this type of situation. Simple enough!
And Dominique, is this not a fair offer? How else could this be handled? It seems you don't even own this product but are still bashing it?
I know I'd be interested in some free dyno time..

But... since I'm in business myself and want to play this fair, you can extend this offer to another forum member who has proven to be sceptical and has a fully stock 997 and I will personally post the results on this forum in a way everyone will know about it (no spamming of course), good or bad.

I'm sure someone will be glad to see their baby working the bench and since quite some people on this forum have been considering buying this product, this will help them decide, whatever the results are.
To post what you did, then not have the ***** to back up your own hyperbole when the vendor you trashed makes a perfectly reasonable offer, is utterly, shamefully lame.

I've read the posts on the Plenum a while back and want to throw out a few points:

1. AWE dynos 350RWHP on a car with exhaust, intake and ecu. (Mustang dynos usually result in lower numbers than DynoJet).
2. RSS dynos a car and people seem to think the results are fishy.

Why not question AWE on these numbers as well? The numbers seem high to me, the results should be somewhere around 320-330+/- RWHP with mods. I feel these numbers from both AWE and RSS are not good samples. If you buy the plenum do a before and after dyno if you like what you see keep the part if you don't send it back to RSS same goes for any other mod. People spend $$ on these parts and paying $100 or even $200 for a dyno test seems like a no brainer if you want to see numbers.

IPD will give you a discount on the product after the dyno testing.

Let us know when you are available.

Hello Greg,

In reading through Todd Sager's (AWE Tuning) post, I was wondering if you can provide us with some of your thoughts as to why they lost power with the plenum.

Just to let you know, I have one of your plenum on my 997 C4s that I bought via the group buy on this forum months ago. I also had to pleasure of speaking with you about it before I made the purchase. Generally, I am happy with it.

Thank you!

Peter

Would you pay my gas too? :-) Stand up offer from RSS, and indeed lame by poster to call someone out and not back it up.

Sort of like punching someone from behind and running away. Nice.

I think Dominique997SC should back his argument up and apologize or be banned from this board, permanently. (He must do this with in the next 24 hours.) The vendor has made an offer to prove his worth and yet Dominic backed down from the offer. To me, this is considered a ban-able offense.

Unfortunately, I still have an eternity before my car reaches break in mileage otherwise I'd be happy to take my bone stock 2008 997S the 20 miles to Costa Mesa and take RSS up on their offer.

Can't someone else who is local step in here?

I agree...but it will be easier for Dominique to hide behind the anonymity of this board...but then again he is too busy.

He'll have more time if he gets banned, then.

hey greg, i spoke to you the week before last. you over nighted me a plenum to boston. i was in between track days and wanted to see if the plenum would make a noticable difference on the track. i did not time myself but have driven the track several times and know what speed i can reach on certain parts of the track. i was able to do 2-3 mph more than my previous best down the longest strait. there's a shorter stait where i use to almost top out in third and was actualy getting into 4th a couple of times. the plenum seemed to help on my car.

thanks greg
