Fabspeed Mufflers

OK I know this subject has been repeated. But I have searched the site with little luck.
I have an 06 997S Cab. I want more sound. Its my weekend car and its TOOO quiet. Really my only complaint about the car.
I am looking to do Fabspeed Mufflers and FVD software (chip) upgrade.

Anyone have Fabspeed mufflers only?
The sound clip on the website sounds kind of quiet. Remmeber this is my weekend car and 95% of the time I drive it with the top down and solo, but don't want it to sound ridiculous either. A nice throaty Porshce growl would be nice.

How about software? $1K for 15 HP seems a little steep. But for the right smile it might be worth it.

I have Fabspeed mufflers only with the Fabspeed tips. It was the sound I was looking for. I let the wife drive the car around the block so I could hear the exhaust, IMHO perfect rumble. The sound of the exhaust made the car LOOK more aggressive. The only thing that was a PITA was putting on the Tips, couldn't get them straight. I ended up going to a local shop to let them do it.

I have Fabspeed mufflers and love the sound. Not intrusive at lower rpms, no drone, and a great wail as you approach redline.

Not a big fan of the Fabspeed tips. I put them on, and they looked too large, too flashy for my tastes. Picked up a set of chrome OEM tips on eBay instead.

have the mufflers (+tips) only at this point ...not 100% sold on the sound but think that I like it better than stock ...I can hear it, and I do like it when I put on the power, again, just not 100% (though sounds great under the highway interchange near me)

need to follow suit and let the gf (note to self: check insurance) drive around the block for me ..problem is I know she will be too scared to floor it

getting headers and cats shortly to complete the set ...get the feeling I will like this 100%

and, while matt there doesn't like the tips, i personally think they look great, maybe extend just a tad bit too much but then I think that the stock tips are way too tame

I used to have mufflers only, it was a great improvement over stock and may be enough for you with your cab. I decided to go to the fabspeed cats and headers as well and now it's perfect. I think it would be too much for a cab though.

PSE might be a good choice for you as you can go on and off. I have PSE on my car and I might sell it if you are interested

No I tend to like it loud. There will be no need to turn it off.

As long as I am not setting car alarms off at idle.

And of course I don't want it to sound like a tuner car.

Thanks all!

Fabspeed is good. I had them on my 996 and loved them, so when I got my 997 I got them again. However, the first set they sold me for my 997 wasn't a great set- I think they were testing some new design, and the fit (just between Fabspeed to Fabspeed parts on the system) wasn't good, and the sound was no better than stock. I called them and they sent me a new set (which even looked different), and apologized for the mix up- so I'm happy. They sound great- definitely noticable, but on the inside not over the top.
I'll post a video with sound tonight on youtube.

I have Fabspeed mufflers with around 16,000 miles and 2 years of track use and they really are built well and hold up great. They have a great sound too especially at above 5000rpm. They are the closest sounding muffler to a cup car I've heard.

I am assuming you have more than just the mufflers such as headers and cats. i think that makes a big difference in sound from just doing mufflers.

Thanks though.

A pair of Fabspeed mufflers and a BMC filter are a great (and reasonable) first mod.
