#))#($($&@(!$*)@)@ rattle..........

Picked the car up from the dealership, I needed a couple things done and everything came out good but after I left I started hearing a strange annoying rattle right behind the glove box. The work that they did on the car was nowhere near the rattle area so I don't know how it happened..maybe it was just a coincidence that it only started happening right after they had it? Took the car back and they couldn't fix it..gonna take it back next week

it sounds like a loose spring and only starts rattling at 2k-5kish rpm then goes away..its louder with the glove box open

anyone ever have this specific problem before?

I had a rattle in the passenger area...../it turned out to be the passenger seatbelt buckle. Next time you hear it, just grab the buckle to see if that does anything.

Same noise here. Really annoying.
It doesn't seem to rattle all the time for me; I think the road surface makes a difference.

I sometimes get a rattle around that area, not exactly the glove box. Usually adjusting the passenger seat position fixes it.

Will the dealership just replace the glovebox if it comes down to it?

Did they have to disconnect the negative terminal and leave a wrench in there? I'd pull the cover off just to have a look...

Other occasional reported rattles:

I had an occasional annoying rattle in the same area when the car was new.
It turned out to be a loose link at the REAR sway bar.
Funny how noise travels .I could have sworn it was behind the dashboard.

Other rattling at certain rpm's:
It turned out that the metal cigarette snuffer in the ashtray was a little loose . You may want to check that . Just pull it out of the ashtray and pry the metal sides a little further apart for a more snug fit.

Good luck .

My Rattle:

I have a rattle that sounds like its coming from behind the passenger side back seat...right where the rear window meets the rear "dash" area....only at certain RPM's....then it goes away???

The shop said it was the CAT? How can this be? Anyone else had a rattle in that area OR had a "rattlin-cat"???

Thanks!

I have the same rattle and it does seem like its coming from the seat belt in the rear passanger (could this be the red devil disease..haha). Also, I have a rattle coming from my driver side seatbelt base as well...i think the plastic cover.

The chrono is another annoyance......along with the ac/radio/instrument cluster "chirps".

Did you end up getting these fixed?

Also, how is the CS and wht was the whole story behind the trade? I had a Cayman S as well. Your Guards was AMAZING, BTW.
