Right, 4.5 out of a 5-star max rating.

So you cannot incorporate 200 cell cats or so ideally with this system. It wasnt made for it. Im assuming this would give AWE the edge in performance, sound being subjective.

Forgive me for not knowing the 997S' construction as thoroughly as I'm sure you do, but why do you suggest our exhaust would not be able to incorporate cats?

AWE + Borla

I would love to hear from someone with AWE 200 cell cats and Borla cans. Might be the perfect combo of power and sound. Anybody done this???

Not at all, I just figured if you weren't selling the hi-flow cats with your system it would be because your system wasnt designed to run with them. I apologize if my assumptions were incorrect. Im quite a newb, just started looking into exhaust options for my 997S.

I ordered the Borla headers and exhaust, and will provide a complete report once they're on the car.

Awesome Mr. B.

I know it's asking a lot but if it's feasible for you to do a dyno before and after that would be a tremendous help to a lot of the rest of us.

Either way, I can't wait to get the feedback.

I loved the Borla system on my old NSX.

I'll have to look into the dyno, but we'll see.
Stay tuned.

No worries; our exhaust does not delete any cats and is therefore EPA & 50-state legal.

While we haven't tested our system with the various aftermarket cats on the market, there shouldn't be any installation conflict. Since you mentioned that some of this information might be new to you, please keep in mind the letter of the law is very strict about replacing cats. I by no means want to dissuade you from enhancing & customizing your ride, quite the contrary really. But I would encourage you to ask what it is you want from your potential mods & do your homework if legality is one of your concerns.

Let's take doing your research on exhaust, for instance. It's been my experience that our customers are happiest with their mod when they are well-educated about what it does, how it will sound, and what differentiates us from the competition. Anyone can say their products are durable, but when I tell you that our Borla parts carry a 1,000,000 mile warranty (which they do), you can see there's a difference.

Otherwise, if you have any general questions about aftermarket exhaust or specific questions about our 997S exhaust or headers, please lemme know!

Make no mistake about about it the Borla Exhaust which is designed to run and sound the way it does with stock cats will sound different with after market cats.

I know I have experimented with three different headers and mufflers. Stock and AWE cats.

More than likely it will be louder. Objectionably so, not sure.

Will the sound be better or worse in Quality? Don't know until it is tried.

The stock Muffler with AWE headers and Cats is noticeably louder than stock but really doesn't sound all that good.

Chris I ordered my exhaust system over a 2 weeks ago and it has been backordered for another 3 weeks. Any news on this? Is the system that backed up?

Yes, there is a bit of a delay in producing these systems. As a matter of fact, all of our production is in a transitional phase. After 30 years of doing business, we’re moving all of our production facilities from California to Tennessee. We’re packing, shipping cross-country, unpacking, & setting up 80+ semi flatbeds & tractor-trailers full of equipment, raw materials, WIP, and finished product. As you can imagine, it’s a logistical challenge to say the least.

I have been checking on the systems that are on order and as soon as I get news you all will be the first to know. I will talk to our new plant manager in TN & try to ascertain a more specific ship-by date. As you can imagine, a move of this scale isn’t an everyday occurrence; we appreciate your patience & understanding.

Chris my exhaust has been delayed now 2 times! Expected ship date the first time was 6/17 but due to too many orders, it was backordered till 6/27. I call to check in today to get an update on why my exhaust is still not here, they said it hasn't even left the factory! I ask for an explanation to why the exhaust hasn't made it it to my hands yet and the borla rep says he has no idea what is going on. He said he will email me as soon as he gets more information and still no exhaust. Has anyone else got their exhaust yet?

I don't know how much longer I can wait...

Borla moved its factory and, I believe that's the reason for the delays.
Mine is caught up in the move too, but I like Borla's so much, that I'll wait.
