its a 997 but I read somewhere that there were some issues mechanically in the 2005(they fixed some issues) in the 2006 and after models so you are better off going 1 yr up

Anyhow, here is the Carfax...looks like there were three previous owners (4) if you count the carmax.

What do you guys make of this and would you be concerned?

Any Porsche sports car is not exactly stealth! don't worry about the color.

Take your wife for a test drive, get a PPI done at a local dealer and if you like the car and price go for it.

the 05 cars don't seem to be any less reliable than the later ones, the 987 guys report the same (lots of common parts).

I would not be afaid of the mileage provided that it is fairly reflected in the price. You will still have some factory warrantee and if you are uncomfortable without a warrantee by an aftermarket one.

Note the PPI will point out any areas that need to be taken care of under warrantee.

I'd pick Guard Red any day. Finding a Red one is HARD.

concerns

Any concerns or experiences with 3rd party warranty extensions ie. carmax, credit unions?

I would guess everything would be okay. Also, I think the best idea would be to wait til its almost over with and then to extend.

Opinions?
