RSS Plenum Dyno Day

My car was one of the test cars that day. First off, the folks at RSS spent a considerable amount of time, money and dedication in preparation of this day. It is clear that they believe in this product and stand behind its performance and value. Mike from IPD was installing the plenum and GT Pro was in charge of the dyno test to ensure that every party was independent. My stock 997S showed a substantial increase at peak and an even greater increase throughout the midrange. Most importantly, the dyno curve showed an increase of both hp and torque at all RPMs with a nice broad torque curve. I will post the dyno results shortly.

After the plenum test, my car went up on the rack for a full Cargraphic exhaust (headers, cats, mufflers). RSS is the sole US distributor of Cargraphic. I suggest you visit the Cargraphic website for a complete description of the products they offer, all of which can be purchased at RSS. As you will read, Cargraphic has been in the racing industry for over 20 years and their products are the result of countless hours of engineering. Their fit and finish is beyond compare.

I will post pictures and videos of the exhaust shortly. The sound was absolutely intoxicating and completely transformed my car. It no longer felt like a stock Porsche. Anthony from RSS did the install and his attention to detail and meticulous nature was further proof of the caliber of the shop RSS is running. I could not be happier with the exhaust and the install.

Overall, I consider this day a success, as did every single person who had their plenum installed. I advocate this product and any other product RSS sells. I strongly recommend anyone to give Greg or Jeff a call at RSS.

You can contact me with any questions or comments.

mass, thanks for the report. Did you re-dyno the car after the headers, cat's and mufflers install? Did you reset the ECU before the plenum dyno run? Have you had any ECU reprograming work done?

Glad to see you came out and volunteer your car and time. Also, the exhaust sound awesome. Do some video so the rest can see & hear it.

Don't forget to get a set of silver wheel caps to go with your wheels.

I was there too, The exhaust sounded awesome. I think you need more mods to make the car look more like how it sounds. It looks stock but it definitely doesn't sound like a stock 997s.

Yes they did dyno my car after the exhaust. I do not remember the specific numbers, but as everyone should expect, there was an increase throughout the curve. I have not had any ECU programming to this car.

Do the ECU ASAP, you will like it. It pulls all the mods together and gives you a much better midrange.

I used APR but they probably all do about the same thing.

If I hadn't gone APR I would have probably tried Softronic had it been available, other than that I have heard good things about REVO too.

funny how they always shout '997' before starting the engine... reminds me of a clip about exhausts where the guy says '997' about 350 times...

@ mass

why did you make this clip with your car in A GARAGE? my car sounds better in a garage too, trust me, all cars do... you don't need a special exhaust for that!
