tt cab or tt pdk
996 tt cab or 997 c4s pdk cab
Hi everyone.
Im in a little bit of a stuck position and am looking at differing opinions
Whatever the cars is it has to be a cabrio. The question posed is.
Do I get a 3 year old 996tt cab under 10000km's that is about 100k cheaper then a new 997 pdk c4s cab new of the showroom floor.
thanks.

100k is pretty much on par with the US dollar.
the TT cheapest ive found is a 04 with about 50000Km's for 170K
low kay ones are around $220K
new 997 with pdk sports chrono in a c4s cab is pushing the $335 - $340K mark.
mind you a new turbo coupe is about $350K this is all aussie dollars...

Apples to oranges . A 996tt cab is two generations older. For the cost of entry in Australia (expensive) why not just get a current generation(pre facelift) .
Personally --I would save my money . A Porsche is a great car but your region prices
it out of the market .

Sometimes a region can price an item out of the market . For instance if I lived in New York City I might not even buy a car and pay the huge parking fees which are already priced into housing for that location . If i needed to drive out of the city on occasion I would rent a car.
If I lived in Australia and saw that someone else could have two 997 Turbo's for my one car it take the fun out of it . I would buy a cheap car and be happier with that choice .
The prices he is giving are just too high --regardless if he can afford it .
ok had a look at the current market as it stands for used vehicles from a dealership. I worked out the median price range to give an indication. more coupes than cabs but gives you and idea.

What do you want out of your car. Outright power? Latest technology? If its power you want, nothing will beat the value of the 996tt. But its getting old and looks increasingly lame (my opinion). The 997 is just such a beautiful car.
For me its simple.... I want the fastest car I can afford. And thats the 996TT. It will eat every 997 for lunch in a straight line including a GT3RS- but not necessarily around the twisties, and easily keep up with the latest 997TT (so long as that hasnt been modified ;P)
But it suffers turbo lag by comparison to a meaty NA and hence is harder to balance round corners with the throttle (but I am speaking from tip TT experience), is starting to feel old, and well, looks wise is entirely personal.
Your call...

many things to look at different options. Is the turbo what i really want? as for a S version if theres any available good luck with departing in excess of the $240K mark.
Again thanks gents for the input. It may be a pre facelift 997 i even looked at new GTR and a boxster s thats a few years old. again the GTR is new at $160K anyway I will work it out worst case ill buy a bicycle (Joking)
something like this would be not too bad actually.
