Congrats! I am trying to figure out if Porsche provided wrong info either on site or in their order guide for rear tires on for the face lift C4s. Does your car come in 305 or 295 for the rear wheels? There is a sport wheel option with 305, but the rest of are 295, at least that is what it says in their order guide. Do you mind to check and let me know - thanks. Any special deal on the car or just msrp.

Yeah,

I noticed the 295's as well...I think that is an error...I believe the c4 and c4s will all have 305's regardless of rim choice(s) as they have for all 997's. The offsets for the rims have not changed for model year 2009. I am getting the Classics, which have used rear tires sized at 305 for c4 and c4s.

I got a token discount for being a repeat customer(1000 less than MSRP)

I bought the 2006 c4s due to a general lack of self control when considering all things 911....just kiddin...it was a great buy and I needed a car...I can trade it in for nearly what I paid...so it made some financial sense...Really love the car! If the car was seal grey or meteor, I would keep without question.

Best Regards

Question

Congrats on your upcoming 911!

Why do you like the C4 vs. the C2 in the driving/handling department?

c4 vs c2

I should first of all clarify that I enjoy the handling of c2 and c4...the 997 c4s is much better than the 996 c4s I drove for the following reasons:

PASM has some odd handling quirks, but the option to firm up the suspension(in sport mode) on smooth roads created sharpened feedback and greater ability to place the car on a given line...when the roads become less than perfect, which is frequqently the case in Reno, the softer suspension creates an acceptable ride that does not punish the driver and actually helps maintain better control over rough surfaces.

The 997 c4s has a unique front end feeling...the front end tends to be more planted and often avoids the pogo or bobbing handling effect most 911 experience. It might be due to the increased weight over the front axle leading to a better overall balance?

997 c4s did not oversteer unless provoked through extreme steering inputs...the 996 was great until 8/10ths, then massive push when trying to exit a sharp corner under power.

The one quality of the 997 c2s that I did enjoy as being superior to the 997 c4s, the rear end would rotate better under power through sharp turns...The best series of turns from an emotional standpoint...meaning---the most fun I ever experienced in a 911 handling wise, was in a 997 c2s...when I could get the entry and exit speeds right, there was no better car!

just my .02

best regards

The order guide is WRONG! I called PCNA to tell them even the website car configurator is wrong!

C4 has 295 X 35's & C4S has 305 X 30's
