Picked up a new GT-R
Picked up a new GT-R
Hi all:
I know there's been quite a bit of controversy of the new GT-R being faster
than 997TT etc., and that it's butt ugly and that Porsche is always the best blah blah blah...
...before I go on, this is my FIRST Japanese cars..and here's a list of my most recent cars:
9974S, 996TT, RS6, S4 Avant, SL55, 996 C4 etc.....so....here goes
Pros: It's really as fast and handles great. For the money, you can't beat it. Bang for the buck.
Cons: Interior is not as nice as a full leather Porsche interior. Steering is heavy. You feel like you are driving a big car.
Compared to my 9974S. the GT-R makes the 997 feel slow..really slow..hate to say it, but it's true. My 9974S was optioned out to CAD$150,000 plus taxes in 2006. The GT-R cost me just CAD $82,000 plus taxes. Geez...
Overall however....I still prefer Porsche...but for now....I'll have some fun...but my heart still lies with Porsche...there is no substitute!!!
Cheers. Pics to follow.

Thanks for sharing pics and comments- now go supercharge your 997 and quit complaining
I think it's great to ty out different cars and see whats-what. Let us know how the GT-R is treating you in a few months and how you are "Bonding" with it.

I saw one on the road for the first time on Friday. One pulled up right next to me at a stoplight. We exchanged glances. I noticed the guy behind me snapping some photos with his phone. I was going to wait until I saw one in person but I still can't warm up to this one. I'm sure it is a great car just not for me.
Makes it much sexyer.
Write up about it here: http://jalopnik.com/5044218/wald-nis...cally-pleasing
From your garage layout, looks like you're also from Vancouver. I heard the dealers here require the owner to sign some ridiculous terms before picking up the GTR. Is that true? Love to come out and check out your GTR!

They are both great cars, enjoy them!!!
