6% Discount on ordered '09 997S - good deal?

I was offered 6% off MSRP on an ordered '09 997S from my local OPC (November allocation). Although I initially thought this was a good deal given the refresh and the fact that we are at the start of a new model year, I am wondering if I should be pushing for a larger discount in light of the economy.

Has anyone been able to negotiate more than 6% off an '09 car?

I've seen anything from 4.5% off MSRP to $1k over invoice. Here is a link, http://parktown.porschedealer.com/ne...ntoryid=434909, of a launch car at $1k over invoice.

I've attached pics in case they modify it.

don't 911's have nearly 13% in them? i'd say you could probably shop around.

I live in Los Angeles,me and my cousin just order 2 09 C4S cab and coupe, and all we got was 2% off MSRP.That with a Jan delivery day and a March delivery day.If you are getting more than 6% of MSRP that damn good.

The state of the economy will help to provide some very nice deals on new Porsches in the months to come...

that doesn't seem right.... even a year ago when i was looking at purchasing a cayman s instead of my m coupe, they were going to give me 8% off a cayman s, they tried to sell me on a carrera and said they could do $1000 below invoice on 4 different cars they wanted to get rid of, or $1000 over invoice for any carrera on the lot... this was at newport porsche and i wasn't even a previous customer, though a lot of my friends were.

Maybe thing are different now with the economy being so bad,we order our a month and a half ago and i check with 2 other dealer before putting down the deposit. Both dealer wanted MSRP.I think you can get a better deal on the Carrera or the Carrera S.C4S is a little harder because of the allocation.

I feel it's an acceptable deal . No dealership is going give away a car and with the moderate options on that car they have less room to wiggle .
You could haggle with them over 1 grand but is it really worth it ? I don't think so. Why not just get them to throw in a few little items (t shirt, licence plate , car cover) and have it all waxed up .
I understand it's a down economy but they did back off the MSRP and yes they will profit but its not huge .

In this economy you should be able to get 120% off and a free Cayenne for the off season. Of course, I'm sure the Obamites will want to levy a 1000% tax on goods that are not for the people.

If you like the deal, buy it. Enough said.
