Yes, I believe that consistent and excessive presssure on the throttle is the proper course of action.

Remember that this engine is also very green. I would expect it to gain some more hp once it "loosens" up a bit. Many times the Porsche gets better numbers (acceleration with 10,000 to 20,000 on the odo).

250 rwhp and 300 crank hp = 17% drivetrain loss

Coming from the BMW world, seems most folks use the 17% number, which translates to a 1.21 correction factor.

Question WHAT?

OK -- i am just so green. What does all of this mean? Are you guys talking about modifying the 997 to increase horsepower/performance?

I receive my 997S in a few weeks...maybe this is something i should consider in 6 months or so? BUT i am definitely not a race tracker.

ghorn, there's not a damn thing you should do to a 997S but drive it till its broken in, then go to your first DE.
