You need to change to blower oil, that's with a V3 SC. I don't remember how often. I'll find out. Also the Coolant from the I/C needs to be changed and checked from time to time. I'll be changing my Blower oil every time I change the Engine oil. Even though I don't think you need to change it that often.

Kdubb,

You would need to change the plugs every 10,000 miles.

I assume that most of you will track your car after the install of a supercharger. Changing your plugs every 10,000 miles will only insure peek performance. You could always go longer if it is a weekend toy or garage princes.

so just the regular oil changes and plugs at 10K miles...

what about the air filter? how hard is it to clean and/or replace? cost of those?

also, how often does one need to change the oil in the SC itself (V3) ? how hard is that and are the tools included in the kit ?

Air Filer is a K&N http://www.knfilters.com/filtercharger.htm

It is easy to clean all info is on the web site above.

V3 oil change 1st one 2,500 and all after 7,500 miles.

Yes, all tools to change the oil in the V3 are included.

Vortech V-3 Series Supercharger

The V-3 supercharger features an internally lubricated transmission, allowing for supercharger installation and operation without oil lines.
  • Helical gear design with 3.6:1 step-up
  • The V-3 supercharger can be installed into any existing Vortech V-1, V-2, V-4 or V-7 bracketry
  • Includes remote fluid drain hose (attached to supercharger) that allows for simple fluid changes without removing the supercharger from the vehicle
  • A ventilated gear case assembly eliminates any potential internal pressure issues that are currently associated with non-vented competitive designs
  • Integrated gear case baffling for proper oil control
  • Simple oil slinger design does not require separate shaft or bearing set. This provides proper fluid delivery to gears and bearings
  • Superchargers are factory pre-filled with our special synthetic fluid.
  • Integrated dipstick for simple fluid checks

i know the filters themselves are easy to clean, but how hard is it to remove and replace the filter ?

1, Pull the whole intake pipe and filter off of the charger.

2, Remove filer

3, Clean as recomended

4, After alowing the filter to dry and adding oil

5, Replace filter on the intake pipe

6, Install intake pipe and filer back on to the supercharger

Best,

Delius

Kdubb,

I can’t speculate on your mechanical skills. Yet, if you do your own oil changes and know how to change a filter you should be good to go.

only reason I ask is I talked to the tech at Boardwalk Porsche and he mentioned that the airfilter isnt the easiest thing to remove.... figured I'd ask the source

Erin is a super tech. The Porsche is a tight spaced well oiled machine.
