2009 C4S On Order

Hello Everyone,

Soon to be a first time Porsche owner sticking my head in to say hi. My '09 C4S set for Jan build and now I have to find a way to not think about it (constantly) until delivery.

Not easy...

I took a good close look at the ZR1, GTR, R8, M3, but the Porsche got the nod for my daily driver. All fine cars and we are lucky to have them as choices! To me though the PDK, styling, and refinement of the new Porsche were key factors.

You can see from from my options and interior color choice this will be a unique car

Regrets so far- not spec'ing the multi-function PDK wheel, Sport Exhaust and Adaptive Sport Seats. Oh well...

Cheers and look forward to reading the forum each day!

January build .... you should still be able to make a change ..... anytime before it hits PLPROD status can be changed.
Congrats on the car .... planning, ordering, & anticipation is half the fun.
My wife's new C4s Cab left PDI last week .... should arrive at Dlr tomarrow.

Welcome!

Sounds Nice!

These are the only things that I wouldn't buy...

C4S - A C2S is more than enough.

Red Natural Leather - Too much red everywhere.

Park Assist - It's a small car and I always turn myself to the side, when I back up my $100,000.00 car.

Rear Wiper - I never really used it, even if the vehicle had one.

XM Radio - The Wart.

Vented Seats - I use the AC.

Heated Steering Wheel -

The '4' does come in handy in the snow-cold
But I agree with most of your other .... & personally no PDK fan here (also because of the snow, as well as simple enjoyment of the clutch).

Having said all that .... what you put your car together with ... only has to satisfy one person .... you.

If you could modify your options, I would add Sports Chrono Package Plus.

Wow, congrats! You must be super stoked to finally take delivery. Please be sure to post some driving impressions for us folks in lusting limbo.

Salesman says my order is locked and PNA will not allow any changes. Jan 29 build. Anybody know for a fact if changes can be made?

I have had two wheel and all wheel drive performance cars and always enjoyed the traction of the AWD. My current 335i with a Dinan flash is a one-wheel drive wonder (no LSD) and it is no fun because you simply cannot put the power to the ground without either constantly invoking the traction control or lighting off the RR tire.

And consider: a C4S is one click of handbrake application away from being a C2S. Thanks to the new electronically managed center diff (http://www.motivemag.com/pub/feature...rrera_C4.shtml) on 997.2 models.

Only an 86 lb weight penalty, partially offset by my choice of PCCB (~44-48 lb savings) for the full time peace of mind and performance that AWD offers in a variety of driving conditions. I would challenge anybody to live with an AWD performance car and then go back to two wheel drive and see if they don't have new appreciation for AWD.

Daily driver, and backing up in busy parking lots is bad enough with good visibility, much less a wet window. The crazy drivers around here will run you over in a hurry if you back into their path.

Leather seats in the summer give me a sticky, sweaty lower back, and it is hard for me to twist my body so that the air cond vents can dry it off

I was reading your other post, awesome and congrats! Those Sport Buckets are beautiful in Carbon and really lock your *** in place. Please post more driving impressions when you get time. And let us know if Launch Control is fun!

For sure everybody has their own idea of a perfect option package. If I am going to indulge in my "dream" car then I am going to spec it my way
We all have a different "dream"!

How is it?

How does it compare with the standard PASM Suspension S model?

Ride differences?

Are there more switches or more settings?

The local sales manager said, the 911 has to be ordered 45 days before the production start date.

Up until the date that the factory accepts the order, the customer can make changes.

I think that the time sequences can vary at times.

I would call PNA, in order to confirm the actual process time line.

That is a good idea, I will do that tomorrow. Maybe the extended holiday closing is affecting my timeline? The factory is closing for three weeks this year? An extra week? In any event, best to confirm with PNA as you suggested

Cheers!

Great choices

Wow Sayboy --Nice car . I like a lot of your options and believe that the axle lock differential is standard now on the C4s (check to be sure .. if not order it) .

I like Meteor yet am traditional with black interior (like Daves car) https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-delivery.html

You might be able to order red stitching which would look awesome . Some order yellow to match the PCCB but that's not my style (prefer Red) . You can add carbon or even a leather console (that's what i would pick) , or even a painted console to exterior color (meteor) .

Gt3 RS wheels look nice too , and don;t require spacers . Here's two cars (both Turbo) with those wheels . I think it would look amazing on the meteor C4S .

Updated photos of my 997TT, silver hood Crest installed !

Artistic portrayal of my Cobalt 997TT

I would omit the rear wiper . I actually had mine removed on my Turbo to place a Techart roof spoiler .

If you get PDK Sport Chrono PLUS is an absolute must. It makes the shifting unbelievably FAST!
