Iso 997c4s

Hello all,

I may be in the market for a used 997 C4S (prob 06 or 07). I would greatly appreciate any advice - ie) specific things to look for, must have options, years to avoid).

Also, does anyone have recent manheim sales info on the 997 C4s?

Thank you

When I got mine the following options were must have:

Adaptive Sport Seats
Bose
Full leather

All the other stuff you can add on if needed
Short shifter
Sport exhaust

I love the X97 shifter **** and the carbon center conunsel, these can be added is needed

I bought mine for 68K CPO from a Porsche dealer in Nov, 6,800 miles, $105,000 MSRP

That's an excellent price for that CPO car! What was the warranty date?
Care to send up the full options listing?

I got my C4S for $73k at the end of Dec. 08. MSRP was $108,000 / only 3900 miles, and warranty date Sept. 07, but it is NOT CPO.

sbkim -

I would shy away from great sounding prices off independent lots unless you have the ability to fully inspect the car . That means you's have to get a DME scan to check engine over revs and have a collision shop look at body work . You also need to check full records looking for major things like water damage or a differential leak (4S) .

I get nervous with used cars but can accept : 1) a CPO car from a respectable authorized dealership, 2) a used car that I know the previous owner and have talk with him aboit his car, and 3) a full inspection by technicians you trust.

That said -- a C4S tiptronic does have a double whammy in that the enfine and body style is revised PLUS the PDK replaces the Tip giving two new items .

A C4S tip CPO is a tough car to find because most coupes were manual and the cabs were tip.

Local P car dealership has some 08 leftovers but not a C4S coupe in tip . Your photo was the first I ever saw of a coupe Tip C4S.

Indeed, the tip probably huts the price. Most of the people looking for a C4S want the manual and wont even consider the tip. It's even worse for the 996 TT cars. I've seen some decent 996 TT with tip for sale that just won't go away.

I was at my dealership today and looked at 08 leftovers to see if there was a C4S Tip anywhere . Hard car to find . I did find a beautiful C4S Cab Tip (new/untitled ) leftover 2008 in Gt silver with blue int/blue roof . Nice car. well optioned . But it is a cabriolet .

The hard part is that at 120K it's close to an 09 but the discount has got to be attractive . Also at 120 it's dangerously close to Turbo price and hands down I would buy the Turbo.

I snapped a picture . I don;t have my camera with me now but can post it later if this sounds appealing.

Ferrari2Lambo is infamous around these parts
997's are holding their values very well. I would definitely recommend getting one that is fully optioned out as they seem to be the most in demand and easier to resell. Expect to pay in the 60's or 70's for a clean. Good luck with your search.

Nice! A cab with the sports exhaust would be really fun to drive.
