I just turned 32, and I cleared my 21 month 'Cancer-Free' hurdle last week...so I am celebrating a little early! My 2 year diagnosis date is in 3 weeks, and my next set of clean CT scans will mark a really big deal in a survivor's life. I bought my first Rolex last year to mark the 1 year celebration, so I cannot imagine what next year will bring! After going through such a traumatic experience, I decided not to wait until I am 50 to buy the car I have always wanted! On my drive home from the dealer (9 hours!), I kept thinking about how I used to have 911 posters on my wall as a kid I totally feel like the little kid at the dealership in the 997 promo commercial! I know money can't buy eternal happiness, but this is an amazing feeling! I have perma-smile for multiple reasons!

Nick
Congrats on that! The first one is one you'll always remember:P The snow will pass and then you can get out and have some fun

I live in the Tampa area, and would do that in a heartbeat! I just bought a 2009 Carrera S so anyone who has a earlier model, I am game....

Hey Nick:

Spent lots of time driving C2, C2s, Targa 4s these last few weeks. I was trying to justify trading my 400hp Dinan 335xi (manual). The way I could tell the diff is that the C2 could not match the bimmer in straightline, but the 4S seems quicker. Wife drove 'em also, and she reacted like she felt the difference.

What sold me was the PDK. This was the feature that allowed me to have a moderately high-performance sports car that I can share with wife - meaning she can care for the car while driving without worrying about tach/shifting.

Dealer told me that all these cars get crank-dynoed in Germany, and they must produce 105-115% of specified power. Is that BS?? IDK, but the "385 hp" 4S is about as fast as the Dinan 335xi.

I'm sure they measure higher than posted. I suspect that the 997.2S is probably a 400HP engine.
