I had planned on ordering a C2 but with the input from many of the guys at rennlist.com it became apparent that a car relatively close to my evolving specs was sitting at my local dealer.

"Sally" was delivered this afternoon.

Exterior Color B4 Carrara White
Interior Color FD Sea Blue Leather Seats
342 Heated Seats
369 Standard Seats
Interior 810 Floor Mats in Interior Color
Audio 680 BOSE High End Sound Package
619 Bluetooth Interface for Mobile Phone
Performance 640 Sport Chrono Package Plus
Exterior 267 Self Dimming Mirrors
Wheels 407 19" Sport Design Wheels

The folks at Porsche of Naples were very accommodating and did a great job. I can't wait to get through the break in period.

Thanks guys.

Not sure why my picture uploaded so small. I'll try another one shortly.

This is my first P-Car so no real comparison, I was looking real hard at a new M3 too but the character of the Carrera won my heart. Like many owners, I've wanted a 911 since I was old enough to want one. I still have a poster that Porsche sent me in ~1986 of a 911 with my last name on the license plate; very effective marketing.

I think the ride of the 997.2 C2S is smoother and the cabin is slightly quieter then the 08 C2S that I test drove; although NOT back to back test drive. It is obviously not broke in so not sure about the power but it does feel stronger the the New 08 C2S and much stronger then a used 07 C2S I looked at.

It is amazing when you consider the combination of options that are available from Porsche and really hard not to get caught up in it. I wanted a very basic car; this one was close enough.

I must say though that I'm feeling like a bit of an asshat for buying this kind of car when so many people are suffering. Hopefully our economy improves sooner then later so I can enjoy it guilt free.

Hi Dirtmerchant,

I am kinda new here to but your picture is perfect. Click on the thumbnail and the picture gets larger.

Looks nice.. And mods in mind?

BTW: Funny, I felt the exact same way about the economy when I first drove mine home. I had a good year in business and rewarded myself. I was afraid to show anyone in the family or at the office.. I did not think I deserved it. You will get over it.. Just ride around some more. You deserve it. Enjoy.

Hondoo,

Thanks for the pointing out the obvious, I knew the picture thing was some sort of operator error.

My wife thinks I will overcome my feelings too but living in the heart of the real estate crises makes it a little difficult to say the least. Hopefully I can spin it as doing my part to help stimulate the economy.

No mods in mind for now. I may have the windows tinted but I don't really consider that a mod.

Way to go on Sally and welcome aboard. I do know what you mean about the suspension PASM differences between the 997.1 and 997.2. And I'd describe it as being more compliant.....

hey dksu, for some reason I've not yet had one come in. The only cars have been S' thus far and I'd be really keen to do so....
