Most wings look Goofy on the NB.
I have seen a 997S with a Gt3 front bumper, an RS wing , dymag wheels , titanium lug. lowered , flashed, intake, exhaust (might even be straight pipes) , sport bucket seats , Brembos BBK, Bilsteins , techart carbon steering wheel carbon everwhere... painted silver console Awesome car !!!!!!!
hmmmmm....
Something to cute about this wing.... when I see this wing I think to myself.one of two things..... 1st, "wow someone installed half of their luggage rack on their 997"....or ..."Oh how nice, his first mod and got the Jr wing"...... I love Techart, just never thought this wing, well was a wing.... More a rear lip spoiler but not a wing etc...
That said partnered with other mods like in this pic it can look quite nice.....

The type one is understated .
The RS wing is grand .
I like both . I am not sure what I would place on my 997S because I never got that far . I traded for the Turbo and went Techart all the way.

Actually it is 3X better on a N/A 997 IMO.....-being sarcastic....-
Reasons why....1st and foremost cause it is unique..... 2nd Due to the slighter width on a 997 compared to a TT the wing IMO actually looks even better; bold statement I know but the **** of a TT the wing looks less pronounced then on a non turbo simply based on cars design...... 3rd it forces your hand to get an EVO box (or other air box set up) so the wings hydraulics would fit.....The end result looks good, is OEM, and I love the sound of the EVO air box set up....
I felt the same way as you buddy thats why I took on this project.... that said if I started from the get go again I would have gone with a car with the full OEM Aero package. Wing does not look as nice as the TT wing but the front end compensates for that and overall looks balanced. Just need the Aero in the right color etc.... Silver with Black wheels would be it for me.

park your car next to a turbo and walk back 20 paces. if you still think yours looks better, we will have to agree to disagree.
i also agree that the aero pack is the best route to take. it looks the best and is cheaper than any aftermarket kit.
the type 1 wing looks laughable. im sorry but thats going to the extreme in the oposite direction. lol
the techart stuff to me, just looks different. it doesnt look bad, but it doesnt look good enough to go out and replace the stock parts with especially given their ridiculous prices.
for example, that trim they add to the head light looks good. but the head light looks good without it too. so spending money just to be different doesnt appeal to me. somethings they have i dont like. the side skirts look to bulky and i prefer the stock look better.
some of their wide body stuff is nice but if i had a wide body, i doubt i'd change over

The techart materials are extemely well made and tested on the car itself. I'll quote what was stated on the Turbo forum -
" TECHART front lip and front bumper are made of a flexible, resilient, and durable polyurethane that is cast in very expensive aluminum molds.
Many of the aerodynamic body components come with ABS grilles, kevlar radiator / brake ducting and numerous pieces of hardware. That is usually the biggest difference between genuine TECHART and the counterfeit products some people push. "

I am having trouble understanding something . Are you trying to make yoir car (paraphrasing) "look better " or have design tested function suited for that specific car ?
Because when I put together a car for myself I am gauging the car for proper drivinng. It doesn't matter if it wins a beauty contest or not.

Nope
Yes we will disagree.... to me a "different" and or "unique" car is important. (Of course in good taste, not sure that we really need to try and debate a unique mod done poorly like your pedal kit...
, here is a pic of the path I took for reference
but did consider the ones you posted as option B) I just don't want something everyone else has. That is why I love a board such as 6speed.... otherwise I would just surf the Porsche usa website. Someone here made their own side skirts for their 997, I thought that was amazing..... Reading his posts and watching his progress was a 100X more interesting then someone simply adding a part easily had. Way beyond my skills, but just noting a unique mod that made his car different, results were fantastic....
I do not know what a GT3 OEM wing costs? Just so I can make the comparison but looks wise out of all 997 wings my favorite is the TT as it sits lower, love the hydraulic second wing blade and its not to in your face IMO. Some may feel different....
Funny you ask, I have done what you have suggested (lining up both cars) and I can tell you from doing it you maybe surprised with the results....now have you done the same? Pics are a hard comparison...My car does ride on techart coil overs so the ride height helped, black exhaust tips, and different emblem from stock so was comparing the full visual as a whole....not a huge fan of the square exhaust tips on the TT....
" I also agree that the aero pack is the best route to take. it looks the best and is cheaper than any aftermarket kit.[/quote]"
I think your mistaken here..... if your referring to adding an oem aero kit to a car later it is costly.... if your referring to it coming with the car then you will pay a premium for this, which IMO well worth it.

being unique has nothing to do with if something looks good. ex. my foot pedals are as unique as it gets but would you want it on your car?

just to give an example . Atomic 80 posted thse photos of when he visited the Techart factory. Look at the care which goes into constructing just a simple steering wheel. I understand some may take issue with spending over nearly 3K for a custom wheel but IMO they are worth every cent.

Not sure whom your asking
But can say I agree that Techart is of very high quality from what I know and read......my car rides on Techart coil overs.
For me personally, yes I will admit the 997 has more juice then I will ever need for the street.....I am not a track junkie. (wish there were tracks closer or could be) I always try and make my car look as visually appealing as possible in my eyes.......extra perf is also important to me but I would not compromise how my car looks to get there... I have RUF wheels, we all know they are heavy for example, but strong and look great...
If I was forced not to mod and had an option between a 997 none S with aero package over a 997s none aero, I would take the none s aero....yes I am that guy, at least I am honest with myself
. (not want to start this again but we all know how close in perf the none S and the S are) I have seen your posts and know perf is extremely important to you and applaud that.......possibly why you went to the TT from your prior 997.... congrats, your car looks great.......
Forum posting can be hard, so hope this came over OK, just speaking about my own personal views as a car enthusiast, again wasn't sure if your question was for me. hope that is OK....
Steering wheel is amazing you posted..... truly amazing, but costs as much as my TT wing project.... out of my league but appreciate such quality.

to answer your question, i wouldnt put an aero part on my car unless i knew it would properly work at high speeds. i attend some fun runs and you'd be better off coming to those with the Goods, else you might end up in a ditch.
in one of my earlier posts, i asked in someone elses thread if there were any wind tunnel tests of the various wings everyone was putting on their cars and didnt get a straight answer.
so, i need form + function. but i wont put an ugly a$$ wing on my car just because it gives good downforce. in that case, i prefer to stay stock. but if a wing can look good and perform, i could do with that.
the 997 aero kit is wind tested by porsche and it has 'zero lift' so imo is probably the best option for the car.
i dont know if techart or any other aftermarket company has pockets deep enough to fully wind tunnel test aero kits despite what they may claim.
what i do see a lot of is just rear wings and no, i wouldnt do that unless i made arrangements for the front as well.
i actually do drive my car near the limits at times and i dont want to fly off into the weeds
