Most wings look Goofy on the NB.

i have been looking at a bunch of wings both in person and online for the 997 Narrow Body.

most all wings seem to over power the rear of the car and look too tacked on or too much of an after thought imo.

about the only wing that does look right is the factory GT3 wing because its shorter and doesnt cover the hips of the car from one side to the other.

the ones that really look out of place are the GT2 style wings on the NB.

wide bodies on the other hand look good because their extra width in the back can 'carry' the the size and width of the wings and still show off their hips and lines.

i saw a 997S with some type of GT2 look a like wing and from way behind you could tell somebody just threw that on there after the fact.

an actual GT2 or turbo on the other hand look like they were made for each other.

i think it would be best for most 997/S owners to enjoy what they have or go for a gt3 treatment. just about all else looks goofy and i hate to say it, somewaht fake.

all this with all due respect, ofcourse

Bara, I am sure this will quickly become a flame thread.

I will say that the 997 Turbo tail looks good, mickfluff did a conversion on his 997 C2, do a search for threads started by him to see he pictures. He spent a lot of $ to get the tail to work.

i stand corrected. the turbo is the only other wing i have seen that didnt look too out of place on the NB. again, its because the turbo wing is short and doesnt traverse the width of the car like just about every aftermarket or factory GT2 or GT3 rs wings.

but i have to say, the turbo wing looks 2x better on the turbo than on the NB because the wider hips of the turbo add a more dramatic shelf for the wing to sit on.

we are here to share thoughts and opinions and i dont mind if someone disagrees with me. i respect people's opinions but but am free to disagree so i dont see why there should be any flaming.

I think you can take your pick of any OEM wing and be fine. It's when people add strange off the wall designed wings that things get funky for me.

Nope.....

Actually it is 3X better on a N/A 997 IMO.....-being sarcastic....-

Reasons why....1st and foremost cause it is unique..... 2nd Due to the slighter width on a 997 compared to a TT the wing IMO actually looks even better; bold statement I know but the **** of a TT the wing looks less pronounced then on a non turbo simply based on cars design...... 3rd it forces your hand to get an EVO box (or other air box set up) so the wings hydraulics would fit.....The end result looks good, is OEM, and I love the sound of the EVO air box set up.... I felt the same way as you buddy thats why I took on this project.... that said if I started from the get go again I would have gone with a car with the full OEM Aero package. Wing does not look as nice as the TT wing but the front end compensates for that and overall looks balanced. Just need the Aero in the right color etc.... Silver with Black wheels would be it for me.

Just in case

In case the last pic left any doubt... pic one wing normal, pic two deployed. The wing does not extend past the hips......
