Bilstein PSS for 997S

I was looking at Bilstein's catalog (see attached), and noticed that for non-PASM C2S car, the available option for PSS system is PSS9 only, but not PSS10. However, for 996 and 997 C4S, you can opt for PSS10.

Has anyone fitted PSS10 in your C2S? I believe if the mountings/housings for PSS10 are the same as those for PSS9, the 10 should work just fine in C2S.

With a 997S you should be looking at the Damptronics, workswith your PASM computer.

As said, mine is non-PASM, but instead, it came with -20mm Sports Suspension. Thus, Damptronics won't work on mine!

Bilstein was trying to clear out PSS9 stock but I'm pretty sure you can get a PSS10 for yours if not now in the very near future once the PSS9s are all sold out...

I am sorry, I have never heard of a 997S with out PASM, I thought it was standard on the S.

I see...but the strange part is they offer PSS10 to 996 and 997 C4/C4S but not 997 C2S (that's what it said in the catalog). Why not 997 C2S?!

And how can I tell the exact model number of PSS10 to go for? They have different numbers for 996, 997 C4/C4S and 997 Turbo.

So did I. I thought that the sports suspension was exclusive to the 997.2 cars along w/ PASM. Could be wrong.

There are extensive threads on how many found themseives confused . Forum member alex997tt explained as follows --

" The reason i ask is because there has been a LOT of confusion over the Bilstein nomenclature.
PSS10 have 10 settings you can manually choose from.
B16 plug into the cars PASM system and it controls the dampening.
Lots of these kits are sold as PSS10 'with' and 'without' PASM. If you chose 'with' then they are B16's and not PSS10. "

Yes, you are right. PASM is standard on all 997.1 S but you could opt for -20mm Sports Suspension which would also come with LSD to replace with the PASM without paying any extra (or having any discount).

For 997.2, yes the Sports Suspension package with LSD is now going with PASM.

Or in other words:

With PASM, you will need to choose Damptronics.

Without PASM, you will go for PSS9/10, or namely B16.

This link will explain it all!

Countries outside of North America get more choices on configurations than we do. Like no sunroof, and no mandatory PASM, rear seat delete, etc.

Ok, just looked at Bilstein DE and found an update on product application. See attached. Now B16-PSS10 is available for 997.

I will double check with them to see if it applies to non-PASM car. (It should, as B16 is mechanical while Damptronics is the replacement for PASM).
