Carrera II Wheels Painted

Anyone had them ceramic coated in either flat or glossy black? I think they would look good as they are good looking standard wheels by Porsche.

Maybe some of the wheel sponsors can chime in with pictures and thoughts.

You mean powder coated or painted - ceramic coating is best for high temp areas like exhaust tips, etc.

I mean powder coat. That color looks like a charcoal black. Very nice. Did you have that done?

Looks good but I think the flat black does hide too much of the details of the wheel. Either a gloss black or a charcoal.

Btw, I have a guards red car.

Any concerns about the oven temperature and cure time impacting the wheel strength when powder coating? I have an extra set of S wheels I'd like to have powder coated flat black, but am concerned I'll mess up the wheels. This set is used at DE's.

Just paint them, they can do flat black if you want it done.

Talk to the wheel manfucture but Powder Coating works really well. Lots of race cars and track cars I am with all powder coat.

Is there any particular reason why you can't just paint the wheels similar to the body of the car, then clear coat it to protect it? I'm just wondering why powder coating is necessary considering there are so many concerns regarding the wheel strength and the temperature at which it is powder coated.

That pic is nice. Is that factory or painted after-market? What color is that exactly? Thanks.

No.....can be done.
I was going to paint a set of SIIs for the 997.2 but am selling them instead.....custom painting some TechArts.
These, of course are HRE's w/centers painted to car color (seal).
