Do you guys think the 997 interior is a bit cheap in the design department?

Compare to the 996 interior, 996's interior really stands out big time and screams the name Porsche. I was never a fan of the new 997 interior. The exterior settled on me a few months later with new headlights design, but the interior, I still think is a bit ugly.

Almost like the exterior of the 5 series BMW, like a love and hate relationship. It makes me think that the guy who worked on the 5 styling worked on the 997 interior.

I am looking at 997S's now, and just wanted to share this. So no flames please.

I think that the 997 interior is nicer and better quality than the 996 interior.

Are you mixing the two cars interiors up? The 997 is soooo much nicer then any previous interior to come from Porsche. Clean and functional.

When I was looking for a Porsche it was either a 997 or a 993. I liked the more modern look of the 997 overall and I am not sure I could live with the Taurus like design of the 996.

Wow, are you sure you aren't on some serious medication. The 996 interior is crap compared to a 997, one of the main reasons I went with a 04 E46 M3 vs. the 996. Now that doesn't mean the 997 interior is perfect...far from it. It is however light years ahead of the 996.

ya the 997 interior is wayyy better than the 996, though it is still a little "cheap" in some aspects

I particularly love the sun visors..they look right out of a 74 VW Beetle. Not to mention you sit so low in the car and they are so small they are practically worthless.

Yeah, I have to sit so utterly straight and lift my chin up to get any eye protection from the sun

wow, so many good replies on the 997 interior.. I guess when I get my 997, the inside will settle on me as well. Thanks and can't wait. (Someone mentioned Taurus, thanks a lot, I never thought of the 996 interior as to Taurus, now you got me thinking....)
