Borla Exhaust Looking for 997.2 S

Hello all,
We’re in the process of designing an exhaust system for the new 997S Gen II. If you own one with a manual trans, we’d like you to be our partner in development!

We would be borrowing your car for about 1-2 weeks, where it would be carefully watched & well-taken care of while in our shop. Upon completion of our R&D, we’ll present you with the first production exhaust system free of charge.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please call my direct office line 805-246-6000 or email me chrish@borla.com. Thanks for your interest; we look forward to developing another great exhaust system for Porsche enthusiasts!

Thanks,
Chris

Chris: that's really what the new tips look like. I woulda volunteered my 6-speed 997.2 for your project in a hearbeat, but it's still being built (with those new tips)!

Those PSE tips are really butt ugly! I've heard rumors that the PSE on the new 997.2 DFI engine will add some HP gains but that Porsche isn't officially admitting to that.

Are you going to design one for the PDK. How does it differ from the manual?

If I understand your question correctly, at the moment we won't be designing a tip option to mesh solely with the PSE. When we design an exhaust system, we usually replace all stock parts with our own, including the tips. That said, we build everything we build for car enthusiasts and we welcome feedback. If there is an overwhelming amount of interest from this community, we're always willing to consider new options.

While we manufacture our product in TN, our R&D and new product development is done in my facility here in Oxnard,CA.

We only offer our systems at full MSRP to support our distribution chain. There are several retailers & suppliers who stock and can order our product. Several of them are sponsors of this forum. Should you desire, you can always order directly from our website.

We're not sure how they differ yet. We'll design a system around the stick-shift trans first and then figure out if it fits the PDK. From our experience, it'll most likely fit the same exhaust system.

I would love to give my car over for development of the Borla exhaust. I had a borla exhaust for my 07 cayman S and it was wonderful. I really cant wait to have one for my 997.2. Have been on the waiting list for when it comes out. Wish i was close enough to lend my car.

Reminds me of my old Austin Healey 3000, Mk 3 with my Borla. It gave me a whopping 2" of road clearance, but what a sound!
