997.2 Bluetooth echo

I have an iPhone 3G and my callers hear their own echoes. My side is fine. Anybody else have the same problem?

Thanks.

This is an issue with the 997.1's as well. If you turn the volume down on your end it should not echo. The mic inside the cabin is picking up the sound coming from the speakers.

It's a known issue with the 3G iPhones - others have reported the same thing on other cars, not just Porsches.

suggest you look at apple forums and do a search there as well.

Really? I use my phone in all my other cars (ML63, GTR, M5, etc) and have never had this problem before.

I have the echo problem in my car (997.1 with Tooki) as well using a Blackberry. Turing down the radio does the trick.

It's only an issue with the 3G phones. I have a 2G iphone running 1.1.1 which is and always has been fine.

Steven B is infamous around these parts
I have this problem with my 996 which began after I put in an aftermarket Alpine syster. Microphone is located in the driver's corner of the headliner. Note that I use Verizon and tried the system with multiple different styles/ brands of phone. Presently using the LG Dare. Neither verizon nor the installer was able to do a consistent fix, despite multiple changes of phone, volume and software upgrades. I contacted Alpine and they sent me a different mic which has a bolume control........ I admit I have not yet installed this (I just got tired of all of the time/energy etc - everyone said it was the other guy's problem). I have been using the earpiece for sanity's sake!!

Mine only does this in my BMW if I use Voice Recognition. If I manually dial it it doesn't do it. Don't have BT in the 997.1 yet. I am using a BlackJackII 3gphone.
