Depress Clutch Pedal

Lately, I've found that my car really wants me to "depress the clutch pedal" to start the engine by pressing the pedal really, really, really hard.

Anyone else have a similar situation? I'm going to the dealer to have them look at that later this week. But I was wondering if that's a common issue with the clutch depress switch ?

Does this occur after washing the car?

It happens when I haven't washed the car for days. Not sure if it also happens after washing.
But it's intermittent. Today, I didn't have to press hard.

Check the pedal clutch switch. It may be slightly out of position or needs to be bent out slightly.

Not to ask a dumb question, but where is that switch? On the floor or somewhere else?

Thanks!

Thanks!

It is at the pivot point of the pedal at the top next to the cruise control release switch.

I have not experienced such a problem. Are you sure it has to do with the clutch?

Yep. Dealer just replaced the clutch pedal switch and it's all better. Now I can even start the car without depressing all the way to the floor. It was probably only a matter of time before it left me stranded and getting towed to the dealer.
